We certainly shouldn't judge him by a couple of seasons where the team was intending to lose the whole time and would have to sit him in order to lose games.

We can manage the defense with him. He's even improved during his time here.

The real question is whether he can be worthwhile on OFFENSE, not whether or not he'll be a huge issue for our defense. He has value and he has potential, but we need to see what he looks like in this new environment to see if he's worth the money it'll take to keep him going forward.

I've been saying this, but while everyone was crapping on him, that 3 had been there since the 4th game of the season and his 2P% has started to normalize. He's fine. He's been fine. People are just reactionary, especially this early in the season. Not that I am never such either, of course, but still.

Quick's a solid sparkplug for us.

OG out 2 weeks Hammy minimum - he's just as injury prone if not more than IQ is perceived to be

For the past year and a half people forgot just how good IQ was because he was playing on a rebuilding team with a focus on developing its younger players.

Guy is a very good player.

I'm just glad the advanced metrics are finally looking good again for him. It was originally why I was really excited about the trade for him.

The D has really looked really good too. Outside of Cole Anthony and D'Angelo Russell randomly going off, he's done a great job on that end.

And those two guys mostly beat up on Ingram and Shead.

The discourse around IQ to begin the year was just honestly really freaking dumb. People were seeing what they wanna see rather than what was actually happening.

It’s not surprising though that RealGM was incapable of analyzing a player further than “he is shooting bad, so he sucks”.

I love Shead, but we had people calling for IQ to be benched for him

Man if he keeps this up or something similar then his contract will be well worth it. Our team is in a good place right now, hopefully they keep building on this.

IQ haters in shambles. People were calling him one of the worst contracts in the NBA a few weeks ago.

I always believed in IQ. He's going to be great next to Barnes and Ingram. We likely have one of our most talented starting line ups in our franchise history. I wouldn't sleep on these guys. They all punch above their break and could be characterized as under rated.

I would to see more creation ability from IQ though. When he's on with the bench does he collapse the defense?

On defense is he swarming bad ball handlers, stopping transition breaks, getting deflections, making smart gambles, rotating timely? Those matter but he'll get there. Rapid improvement from him and completely turned around his season.

I like him better than Ball or Morant.

He’s Curry lite, the less he has the ball in his hands, the more potent our offence and his offence becomes. He should lean as far away from self creation as much as possible outside of deep pull up 3’s and floaters.

Relocation, moving around without the ball, volume catch n shoot 3’s, that’s the best version of IQ.

Some also said the Scottie contract was going to be an albatross (as if 20 teams wouldn't trade for him right now). There are some wild takes around here. We don't have any bad contracts

IQ has been incredible and seems to always come through with timely buckets. He and BI are what make the offense hum IMO.

Tough start to the season for IQ, I actually think a lot of that was him trying too hard. My concern with IQ is that we gave him a huge deal while collecting a platoon of sg’s - and I really wasn’t sure he was a lead guard. I still think he’s more of a natural sg, or 6 th man type scorer, but he, Darko and the whole squad have adjusted well. I don’t think concerns about his being suited to the type of def we came out playing, or how to maximize his game were unfounded, they’ve just, so far, either made the right adjustments or rose to the challenge. I have absolutely no problem, if concerns are erased.

I questioned the vision because it seemed like topping out at low level playoff team, and to me, our salary/talent level only makes sense if we’re asscending and we only makes sense to invest further in, if we show that there potential to actually do something. And with players all in prime type ages - if they don’t project to be contenders, they will be tearing it down before they get off the ground. We know the guys we have committed to rn, are just at tax level. Darko is doing his thang and the team, IQ and all are giving a reason to think there could be something special with this group.
