Don't worry too much, a lot of teams are banged up right now. One calf strain isn't the end of the world. I know the common narrative around his height and injury concerns, but I for one won't shackle him to that line of thinking. Let the team be careful though.

This is the time of the season to miss a few weeks. Outside of a meeting with Denver and Minny, the Spurs schedule isn't crazy going through the Thanksgiving holiday. Regardless of schedule strength, they finally have Fox so that helps a bit while Harper and Wemby get it right.

Somewhat uplifting news. Hopefully nothing more than a 2-3 week injury, but knowing the Spurs and how cautious they are with calf-strains, wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it was a month plus.

No chance he gets enough games for All NBA or MVP or DPOY this season. Calf strain is no joke nowadays, no one wants the Achilles risk.

Might only have a few seasons in his career with All NBA at this rate.

Spurs only play 3 games each of the next 4 weeks. So even if he misses 4 weeks, that's only 12 games. If it's 3 weeks, that's only 9.

But yea he's not very durable and he would have to be for the rest of the way.

Perhaps, it's mainly the wear and tear of planting either to run or jump for hours at a time. I personally get tightness from my achilles/lower calf area and need to use a roller to loosen it up a bit.

Feels like every team a player or two suffer a calf strain every year.

It's just how the game has evolved nowadays. Everyone shot the three so there's more ground to cover. It's hard.

If Wemby confirms the injury came directly from the leg kick from Podz, then the objective is clear.
