I have no faith in Houston and I am pretty sure Durant will become old rather quickly and Houston will have to figure out how to score consistently against playoff defenses.

And they are not better than OKC. If OKC meets Houston in the WCF, that would probably be a 6 Game series with OKC coming out on top.

They are younger, and more skilled team with an MVP in his prime with the best supporting cast in the NBA.

The best thing that ever happened to Houston was losing FVV. He can't score with any efficiency at this stage in his career and having him pound the ball is pointless.

Houston are a great team and might even beat OKC but saying they are "practically unstoppable" is quite an exaggeration.

OKC borders on inevitable if theyre healthy. They got garbage production out of Jdub who's wrist was mangled and they still won. Youre gonna need a superhuman performence from a GOAT level player while getting incredible production from his 2nd option to take him down (like Bron/Kyrie 2016, i dont think Jamal is capable of that anymore)

This isn't true.

JDub averaged 21.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists with good to elite defense on 54 percent TS. He had an inconsistent offense during his playoff run but he played his part on defense.

The entire OKC roster didn't perform like they did in the regular season and that could just be inexperience. I guess everyone expected the 2001 Lakers.

Plus, everyone has to remember that JDub went from college combo guard to a swiss army knife wing that watches SGA pound the ball and running the show when SGA sits.

He is still working out his offensive game.

Only said the PF/C duo is unstoppable. Still think OKC should be the favorites, but you can't say we don't have a shot.

Durant and SGA are going to put up 30 each on similar efficiency. Durant and Sengun will go point for point with SGA and Williams. I think it's the rest of the squad to decide it and we're maybe deeper than them:

Amen
Jabari
Sheppard
Tari
DFS
Adams
Capela
Okogie

We're really really good. We're absorbing 3 injuries like it's nothing at the moment.

People forget that it doesn’t even go to OT if KD doesn’t inexplicably miss…was it 2 or 3?… free throws at the end of regulation. And this isn’t just woulda coulda shoulda, free throws are by definition completely independent of other factors and only come down to a combination of shooting ability, clutch ability and luck, and when talking about KD he has an extensive career demonstrating the first two, so it was purely bad luck or they would have beaten OKC in OKC on opening night with their first ever game as a unit against the defending champs.

And yet people talk like that somehow established some rock solid tier between the two. Consequentialism makes for poor reasoning.

Health will be the only thing stopping this team from becoming real title contenders. Hope they can survive the 82 games and play a long playoff season since they are exciting to watch (and an additional West contending team to challenge OKC is always welcome).

Especially if Gordon keeps playing like this.
Initially, this debate looks like 2x All-NBA level guys vs. and MVP and a borderline all-star. Gordon has been playing like an actual all-star though. Not only is he doing his normal defense and finishing stuff, but this year he's been such a versatile bucket getter for Denver. He's simply solid in all kinds of scoring play types. He's hitting his catch & shoot looks. He posts guys, or drives into post ups, or drives into strong finishes. His pull up game off the dribble from midrange has been a reliable go-to for the Nuggets when their other stuff doesn't work.

Gordon's 3-point shooting wont stay at this level, but the rest of his improvements look real.

Yeah it is crazy how much he improved his shot not only from the 3pt range but from the stripe aswell. It’s unbelievable how much a leap he has taken as a shooter. I think we should treat a 40 percent 3 point shooter from now I think. Has there been anyone else who has taken such a big leap lately? He is now a three level scorer. Definitely underrated.

If you look at his free-throw percentage from the past several seasons it’s actually wild.

23/24 - 65.8% (near his career average)
24/25 - 81.0 %
25/26 - 88.9%
