Well, you should think about it (and I'm rooting for Dallas)... AD isn't available even 1/3 of the time (literally), he earns a fortune and needs a new contract... oh, and his defense has regressed.

You make some very good points. Still, I would be willing to take a chance buying low on a guy like Davis. If it totally doesn't work we still have some assets left and we could get out of the contract if we really wanted to down the road.

I don't know enough about their team, so I'm probably wrong... but in my opinion, AD would steal too much of the spotlight (and touches) from their high-potential prospects and could negatively affect their development. I understand that a veteran would be a good move to take the next step.
Personally (on paper), I like how White (Boston) or a younger wing like H. Jones (NOP) would fit in.

AD is a top 5 salary and has a couple more years left on an ascending salary. Old and injury prone. No thanks

You couldn't convince me to trade for Trae Young. His team is actually better when he doesn't play, at least with LaMelo when he plays we are better.

Also, I hate watching Trae Young flop around looking for hip contact 35 feet from the basket to try fouls.

We are trading nothing, arguably less than nothing in this trade. Saying no to that offer would be criminal whether you like Trae or not.

Trey Murphy and Herb Jones feel like guys that just don't win games either. We would probably get them to Charlotte and immediately want to cast them out. Pelicans are 2-12 with them, but everyone constantly sells them as winning pieces.

Yeah, threw that out there but honestly I'm not sure moving Miles even makes sense. He is a plus rebounder, something we need, and while his shooting efficiency isn't amazing it's pretty good for someone that scores at the volume he does. It seems like the biggest problem is his decision-making down the stretch, but if we were at full health then he could have a substantially reduced role and we could shift more responsibility to guys like Brandon and Kon.

I know it's just counting stats, but he's putting up 22-7-4 for us this season. Not a lot of PFs in the league are capable of that sort of lift.

I'm ready to move on from Miles. I don't care if it makes the team worse on paper. Playing alongside higher BBIQ players really highlights how boneheaded he gets

as long as the player we get in return can score, I don't really care what the trade is at this point. Bridges needed to be the 4th option on this team, maybe even 5th if Sexton gets it together and Miller is healthy, and either he's unwilling, or Lee is unwilling to tell him, to stop shooting 17 times a game.

I am kind of feeling both sides of this argument. I have always hated the way Trae dominates the ball. Somebody will probably pay more anyway.
