Take Veesaar if he's there when we're drafting. We absolutely need to take a C no questions asked.

He looks fluid and a bouncy lob threat that dunks everything.

I doubt he'll be available. The Raptors also might end up being a top 3 teams in their confernece and picking around 22-26th overall. Our best hope is to take a player that makes leaps and strides in improvement. It feels like we don't ever draft a big that learns how to shoot really well though. Our development staff aren't the best when it comes to developing shots.

Players we passed on:
Tounde Yessoufou
Yaxel Lendeborg
Kingston Flemings
Bennett Stirtz
Hannes Steinbach
With Shead's emergence do we need a pg any more?
Think with Mamu maybe being a one and done due to the cap a stretch big could be more of a need...that being said bpa if there's a noticeable difference in talent.

Adding a young REAL C with skill would be so nice. Just being able to learn from Yak for a few years would be good for his development

Shead is good and Chucky is developing with the 905. The Raptors seem to be really good at getting PG's in the 2nd round or undrafted and developing them.
I guess if not a PG that would go top 3 then might as well get an upperclassmen in the 2nd or UDFA.
Mamu should get a better contract but maybe the tax payer MLE would be enough? I would choose him over Ochai and would even give an extension, for maybe 2 years is fair for both sides?

Re: 2026 NBA Draft Prospects
You should not draft for need. Need should be the tie breaker though within tiers. Having said that, we also need a big 3 + D wing who can defend the other team's best scorer like OG used to. Scottie and CMB are excellent defenders but they're more suited for guarding 3-5.
One guy who I think will rise in workouts and the combine like Carter Bryant (if he doesn't get enough minutes) is Dwayne Aristode. Ironically, the player he's been most compared to is OG.

Since the draft is a crap shoot then if getting to the later picks, you draft in your tier for BPA and tier. Like between Jakobe and Tristan DaSilva, I would've drafted DaSilva is that was a choice.
Now it looks like the Raptors will be drafting in the late teens to early 20's. Who's to say that DeLarrea is going to be better than Veesaar? I would probably draft Veesaar. Now if you're drafting in the lottery, you draft BPA.

I was ok with Jakobe but the guy I really wanted was Ware. Unfortunately, Miami took him ahead of us. I was also pretty high on Da Silva and George but had them more or less in the same tier as Jakobe.
It also looks like we're going to have 2 second rounders this year (46 and 55 as of now). I'm hoping Tomislav Ivisic or Johann Grunloh makes it to one of ours or we use the two to move up to the 30-38 range.

Grunloh looks like he can block shots but can't shoot.
Tomislav #46 and Zvonimir #55.

Re: 2026 NBA Draft Prospects
Is Caleb Wilson a taller + thicker (coming out of college) Chris Bosh?
I'm willing to group a top 6 right now with Peterson, Dybansta, Boozer, Wilson, Ament and Mikel Brown. Best draft since the Scottie draft.
After that can probably nab just as good a player at #7 as #17 (Ware, Jaquez, Jovic, Maxey, etc)

Re: 2026 NBA Draft Prospects
My big early season riser is Baylor guard Cameron Carr. Elite athlete with length and a silky smooth stroke from three. I think he ends up a top 10 pick if he keeps it up. The guy reminds me of a young Paul George.
6'6" 180lbs (7'2 wingspan)
23.7pts 4.3reb 1stl 2blk

Yeah there’s absolutely no way he makes it to our pick, he looks even better than Brown Jr, maybe the best PG prospect by the looks of his highlights.
I don’t really see the PG comparison, George is more of iso scorer. Yeah looks like Carr can shoot but that he also loves to get downhill & out in transition and really aggressive defensively. Tbh he looks like the dream guard for our roster *sigh…we picked a really bad year to give up the tank lol idc what anyone says that thinks it’s just hype, this will go down as one of the best drafts ever, there’s a reason teams are already lining up to bottom out.
Kinda makes me sick that OKC might ridiculously end up with 2 top 10 picks…the thought of them ending up with someone like Carr to be their jumbo PG plus a jumbo wing for good measure. They can legit create a damn Dream Team with the most stacked starting 5 and bench of all time. A dynasty ironically thanks to your comparison, PG & ironically looks like a player OKC would draft lol smh.
