One thing that's really annoying in online sports discourse is people being unwilling to admit they're wrong when it's clear as day they are / were.

I've never seen any banners that were earned after 14 games. I don’t think they're a "mess" but it's also true that the FO hasn't had any wild draft successes in some time. I fully understand you can't expect All Stars with every mid-round pick, but that's very much how they stacked the team prior to championship.

How many games were played when this thread was made? Three games?

He called the draft picks “misses.” That to me implies we missed out on much better players. That is not true. None of the players we missed out on would’ve made a big difference.

Hindsight is 20/20, but Ajay Mitchell wouldn't be a much better option than JaKobe?

You know how rare it is to draft the best player for your draft position?
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

I'm not disputing that, but the statement made was that no one else would have made a big difference. If this team didn't hit massively on the Norm, Delon, OG, Poeltl, Siakam and FVV selections, it probably doesn't have the sustained run of success that it did in the past.

I highly doubt they'll ever have a heater like that again, but's kind of what it takes to build sustained success without a superstar. OKC is in the middle of that now, except they do have a superstar.

I hope Bobby can keep this going. Masai put together a newer version of the pre-championship team. We have all our picks and easily moveable salaries

Yeah even IQ who I thought might be an anchor early this year is a clearly positive impact player and so would in the right trade be moveable. That'll be important.

IQ had been a positive player every year with the Knicks. He was trying to do too much and was given the starting PG role which is a bit much for him, but he’s slowly adjusting.

Can we merge this with a TWO appreciation thread, cuz I also appreciate the effort of this person trying to will their TWO agenda onto this beautiful team.

Funny hack level stuff from William Lou today. Last season this dude kept trying to pin the Ingram trade on Masai because he like may others thought it was a bad trade - When he and Alex were laughing at this team not understanding what Masai was putting together. Something they as long following Raptors fans should have easily been able to see.

Now today he wanted to put some respect on Bobby Webster and he said this trade seems like a very Bobby Webster trade. Are you kidding me with these takes?

For what it’s worth, I think Bobby and Masai actually agreed on a lot of the moves this team makes and I think both would have gone for that Ingram trade. There’s a reason why they have been the most successful executive duo in Toronto sports in decades. But dude, don’t switch up like that lol

Yeah, one of the main reasons I was excited about IQ was the advanced metrics. He had elite on court and on/off splits which didn't translate over at all with the Raptors but looks like it's finally trending back that way after the slow start.

Not to dismiss Mitchell, but the team situation matters too. If Gradey was on Denver next to Jokic, people would be raving about him.

The idea some fans have that masai wasn't signing off on deals is insane lol

15/3/3 player with a TS% of 54% on the best team in the league. He most certainly can get better but the team he’s on helps him look much better than he is. And before it was Missi we missed out on but now it’s Mitchell.

So who are these studs we missed out on? Lol.

Will Lou’s bias when it comes to Bobby is insane.

The vibe I get is Bobby once gave him the time of day on a personal level and he’s been smitten ever since.

For the price we paid, how the hell it was a bad trade to begin with. It was a straight highway robbery.
