But his passing ability and being able to facilitate makes him an interesting prospect.
He could be something special in 3 years time, just like Jordan Walsh.

If Amari makes it to the Celtic roster, that may make some of us forget Brad passing on Kalkbrenner.

Pshaw! Rico's got a higher TS% and lower DefRtg than Kalkbrenner--and he can't get off Joe's bench.

Amari and then Harper Jr are pretty good players.
Shulga needs a little more time.

Hason Ward has missed 3 Games.
Hope he gets back soon.

I think that he should get a Two-Way, if we move one of ours.

I'm thinking all of 18 games, still down there as a 25yo, and seems to fit the profile of what we've got several younger guys doing pretty well now up here.

But they don't play again until Friday, so I wonder if they'll send anyone up to the big club this week.

But he wasn't even good enough to be on our training camp roster.

If we move 1 of our 2-ways, I would think that the guy we'd promote would be either Bridges or Kendall Brown..the 2 guys we have in Maine who are not on 2-ways but were on our training camp roster. Both of them were drafted, too and have actual NBA experience, unlike. Ward.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

This was the 1st game I took in. Not really happy with Amari's level of urgency.

Actually Ward was added as an Exhibit-10, and then Waived. So he is eligible for the Affiliate Bonus. We had about 7 Players that we did that with.
I think that we still have 5 Affiliate eligible players on the Maine Roster, including Scott and Gray.

Ward went Undrafted in the 2024 Draft. So, this is only his 2nd Year.

Yeah, at 25 he may be past the age of what we're looking for.
We'll see what happens, as the Season goes on.

He does seem to come up pretty slow. Needs to light a fire under himself.
I did notice that he brought the ball up several times. No 3's, though.

This is an “I told you so moment,” because I’m a huge fan of what I feel Amari can become, but I been said his energy is off. Doesn’t hustle enough for my liking. He’s always RIGHT THERE, but doesn’t move quick enough to grab the moment. He’s already good for where he is, but he has so much more if he moved like he wanted it more!

I said this during summer league because I was genuinely shocked by his lack of effort! He was right in front of rebounds or had chances to make EASY defensive plays but he would stand there or react too late. I was shocked because I didn’t see him as lackadaisical in his high AND lowlight video. He had weaknesses, but being everywhere and doing everything wasn’t one of them. He was moving like he cared, but in SL was the first red flag of him seemingly not caring ENOUGH!

He’s so talented, but this is the NBA, that can only take you so far. He better get his wake-up call sooner or later, because Joe isn’t going to be a fan of low effort/laziness.

I say all that to say, I believe in him fully, he’s still my Binky of ALL binkies, but he needs to get it together!! I’m offended when he doesn’t hustle his butt off because so many other people would kill to even get a 2-way! Grab that bull by the horns Amari!! Come on!!

I have the same thoughts on his effort. I get the passing is nice, but I need you to bust your butt on D first before you ever get that chance with the ball in your hands.

Amari's a heady player, so it's not surprising to me if he's still processing as he moves up to higher levels of play.

Did he ever look like a big hustle guy in college? I never watched, so I don't know. If he's looking calm in the Duncan/JT mode but still killing it, great. But, if he's low motor, bad. If he's temporarily low motor til it all clicks, I can be patient-ish. :)

I'm with you and Shak. Energy/hustle/effort/desire is so important. When it is absent, it is telling. He won't be on the Celtics roster if he doesn't wake up.

Yes. I recall mentioning him being everywhere. To me it looked like he was a step ahead of people. Not in quickness, but that he knew what to do before they did. He was always moving with purpose. Very active. He would set himself up to help even when actions didn’t involve him. He seemed like he knew when and where to be, doing something that would pay off seconds later.

Now that people have mentioned it, maybe it is a processing issue. I hope it is, because that means once it clicks, he’s going to be really good. He is already better than a lot of guys in the G. Processing would explain being right there, with plenty of opportunity, but not do something when he isn’t lacking athleticism.

It sounds like I’m saying he’s been terrible, when I’m simply saying he could be much better. He’s RIGHT THERE, just gotta do it!! Many people mention being shocked by the speed early on, Shulga recently said he was and that he still adjusting.

Come on game, slow down for my all-time binky of binkies!!!

Is it time to let Ron Harper Jr play on big team? I like his size as a PG and he is ballin’ tight now.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Return to Boston Celtics
