That’s a narrative not a fact… cannot be taken literally

When it comes to Ja I take it literally.

Wolves don't need both White and Pritchard IMO. One or the other would be nice.

Brow would be something. When healthy, which he often isn't, he's better than Ju, but I don't know if I'd trade Ju straight up for him. If we could get a healthy playoff run with him could that put us over the top for a title? He's 32, but I'd say an old 32. How many good years does he have left?

Massive high risk high reward type deal if you did it. He might have 2 seasons left in him and expect him to miss at least 20 games a season.

Not sure I'd do Ju. Mavs will want assets + expiring in return I assume. You'd almost have to send Rudy out potentially

I think it would have to be a three team deal with us sending Ju away.

If I were a GM for a young rebuilding type team I'd be looking at the Wolves and hoping I could get them to part with Clark.

100% dude is relentless on defence. IF he can master that 3 ball he's a major asset.

I love Connelly value investing on high upside late picks. Clark was a high prospect until he tore his Achilles, and ended up drafted #53. Terrence Shannon Jr was lottery-level talent, but was available at #27 because of legal issues. Berlinger could look like a steal in a couple years too - and Connelly gets these guys because he’s willing to be patient.

Last season I was advocating a Minott trade, for a future 2nd or two. Connelly and his team have a good eye for future talent, and we profit from that ability if we can get him late picks. Minott was a good choice (I think Rosa’s’?), but you only profit from the good choice if they play for you, or you trade them for value. I would trade Leonard Miller for a couple seconds now too.

He was part of Connelly's first draft.

Remember the Allen Iverson trade that never happened? Iverson was 30. Garnett was 29. The trade never happened and both players were on new teams within a year.

That's the context I like to think about the Ja Morant idea. Morant is 26. Edwards is 25. They are not that old, there is still a pretty long runway if you can add him to your core group you already have in place.

And I'll ask it this way....15 months ago, would you have traded Karl-Anthony Towns for Ja Morant?

We have to get in the DET/UTA Markkanen trade if it ever happens to steal Ivey. It's the best chance to get a PG with any kind of high upside.

With Keyonte playing so well for UTA and other young guards/wings they have I doubt they'd be super excited to get another young guard who they will have to pay a lot of money in the summer. Send UTA Rob and TSJ who have more time on their rookie contracts, whatever 2nds and pick swaps we have left. UTA probably demands Joan too. Honestly I would do that too after some deliberating if Ivey's medicals are 100% clean, even though I love Joan, but this team's window is now and we would still have Rocco.

UTA out: Markkanen, Love, Anderson
DET out: Ivey, Holland, Harris, all the picks and swaps they have
MIN out: Rob, TSJ, Beringer, Conley (hate to do it to him but he would still have a GOOD east team to compete with), all the picks and swaps we have

UTA in: Harris, Holland, Beringer, T Shannon, Dillingham, all picks and swaps
DET in: Conley, Markkanen
MIN in: Ivey, Love, Anderson

Works perfectly fine financially after all the new signing restrictions are lifted in a month or two.

MIN depth:

Ivey, DDV, Bones
Ant, DDV, Juzang, Bones
Jaden, Clark, Naz, Kyle, Juzang
Randle, Naz, Kyle
Rudy, Randle, Love, Naz, Rocco

I see no weakness 8-)

Then TC works his magic and re-signs Ivey to a Jaden/Naz/Randle type contract this summer after winning the title.
