You can trade AD for Randle and then get value for PJ, so there is some added value there (despite no Dallas wanting to trade PJ honestly)

But it would be really ill advised for Dallas to raise the floor this season. You have just this season to build value through the draft around Cooper. This was obvious to everyone 5 months ago and now seems even more clear that the team is producing how some expected them to..

2027 Dallas first - to Charlotte top 2 protected
2028 Dallas first - swap with OKC
2029 Dallas first - who knows. Houston or Brooklyn? Or someone.
2030 Dallas first - swap with SAS

That's definitely a good point. A trade mid-season is likely about bottoming out. Waiting until the offseason, there is less reason to bottom out.

Where would the value lie in a DiVincenzo for Pritchard swap?

The problem is no decent team is going to play Nurkic all those minutes, let alone start him. No bad team is going to pay to swap expirings.

Boston should pay a bit to swap simons for nurkic to save some money

That would easily get Boston under the first apron. If the Celtics wanted to get completely out of the tax, they could try to move Hauser as well. With his weak start to the season, would any team give up an expiring for him at this point, let alone add value?

What would the Pistons owe in terms of value to turn Tobias Harris into JJJ?

Curious to know what the going rate is for JJJ a month into his extension

It would be pretty difficult at this point. Their picks and swap rights won't be viewed as valuable given the fact they're basically a playoff lock for the foreseeable future and Memphis appears headed in the other direction. Cade is off limits. They don't really have a centerpiece.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Would they trade ausar for him?

I don’t think so. Ausar has DPOY potential. This would just create another hole.

Tobias plus 3 FRPs?

Well... Think it's pretty fair to say JJJ has more of that potential given he's got one lol

Sort of funny :-) but lateral trade doesn’t make sense. The goal is how to add JJJ and not give up core pieces.

Celtics 4 million over tax line. Would be 8 million over after the trade.

Would need third team with trade exception to overcome that hurdle.

To be fair, adding a high level player and not giving up core pieces doesn't make sense, either.

Agreed as well, hence trying to load up the FRPs to compensate
