It’s not one player is holding Barnes back, it’s that the archetype needed to extract the best out of him is one that we don’t necessarily have. case in point, when you see Barnes and Mamu out there together, they look great together, because their archetypes fit together well

Unsure about the defense, which is the initial discussion for adding a C. As for holding back, Siakam can borderline carry the team without a stretch big, so Barnes needs a stretch big to be at that level?

Let's not re-write history here. Siakam needed Gasol, Ibaka, and last year, Turner, (all whom are stretch bigs) to have sniff any success during the playoffs. The few times he didn't, the team either was mostly in the lottery

doesn't work. An AD deal requires two of IQ/RJ/Yak to work (I'm going to assume we're not including either Scottie or Brandon in a deal for him). So if we were to make an offer it would probably be RJ+Yak+Ochai, which I think we wouldn't do. Or something like RJ+IQ for AD+DLo, which I also think we wouldn't do.

yeah i dunno about this theory tbh.

Barnes-Poeltl: 115.8 offensive rating
Barnes-Mamu: 113.6 offensive rating

I've been eyeing Diabate for 2 years

Got a close view last game...I think he fits what we need
Defensive big that rebounds...he's a quality backup

Great point.

Good to know AD is unattainable.

I don't want anything to do with him. He's cooked.

Personally, I'm loving Mamu CMB front court off the bench. I agree we need a 3rd C for when yak or Mamu are resting. Small problem to address by the deadline.

They do have the roster spot, but it may be difficult to use it, unless the team is willing to stay in the tax.

It makes sense to not waste the roster spot on a 3rd C, when they have more versatility with CMB, Mogbo and even Barnes who could fill the role for short periods of time.

Yeah it’s not as big as a priority as bench guard offense right now. A rim running big would be a good complement to our current players

In an ideal world we are able to trade one of the 2g for a C and cut a little bit of money to duck the tax.

If Clips blow it up, go after Zubac.

I'm a huge fan of Zubac. Have him on my fantasy team and love his game. As much as I think Poeltl is not the perfect fit for Toronto, Zubac maybe an even worse fit. Hes kind of a better version of Poeltl.

I can also admit I was wrong to an extent. Poeltl was clearly hurt when I originally made this thread. Although if he goes down in game 7 of the playoffs Raptors are done for.

There's also 3 other variables on the court.

Mamu and Barnes are against bench units but Barnes is at 27PPG on 65 TS% with Mamu. It makes it easier for him to get to the rim.

The surprising one so far has been

Barnes-Poeltl: 118.9 DRTG (225 mins)
Barnes-Mamu: 93.7 DRTG (134 mins)

From the eye test, Mamu's mobility and switching ability allows Scottie to roam around more and cause havoc out there blowing up a lot of team's offensive sets and we get them out of rhythm.
