Jokic leads this decade in total pts, rebounds, assists, steals

Post#1 » by Cubbies2120 » Thu Nov 20, 2025 3:48 pm

No player in NBA history has ever played a decade in which he led in 4 out of 5 major statistical categories. The record is 3 by Kareem in the 1970s.

This includes the 'yoffs.

I have no doubt he'll lose the points leader category by 2030 but it's still pretty wild that over half a decade in, he's leading 4 of 5 major statistical categories.

He good y'all.

The consistency is something we don't talk about enough.

I thought he played bad and lazy last night against the Pelicans but he had a triple double with 10-18 shooting, which is good efficiency. We are taking his greatness for granted because he's been at this level for 5 straight years now.

Imagine if he didn't mentally check out and liked basketball.

Yeah he’ll definitely lose the points. He’s been consistent and not hurt. Then he’s had help with players like Tatum missing a whole season now.

The baby hooks and floaters almost go unnoticed because they're not highlight plays and are more akin to something random role players would do. The difference is that Jokic makes multiple of those every single night. I marvel at how incredibly smooth and effortless his game looks.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

He hardly misses games. He doesn't sit out back to backs. He shows up every single night ready to put in work. Been an absolute joy to watch this guy for the past decade. The media hates him so much and really never wants to talk about him. Especially those clowns over at ESPN.

Really should have 5 straight MVP's, but whatever. Everyone has been wanting to dethrone the king, but he keeps getting better and better.

It’s a combination of being a top 10 player of all time, to go with consistency.

Only 1 time in his career where he didn’t play at least 70 games and that season he played 69 games. So he has the consistency to play a lot of games every year (a lot of games in today’s standards). And on top of that it’s the consistency of his play. Just look at this year so far, 14 games in and only 2 times so far has he shot below 50% from the floor and one of those games he was 1 shot off from being +50% (13 of 27).

The steals thing is the same thing. It’s the 70+ games a year and being top 10 basically every year in steals.

All time talent and all time consistency can lead to crazy stats like this

I expect Shai and Luka to stifle this line by 2030. No chance that continues. Bro is already 30.

To be fair to Jokic. If there is any star player in the league that has a game that should age ridiculously well, it’s Jokic. The guy already plays like an old guy you see at the gym who can’t jump over a phone book.

It's easier on the body to play slowly!

Not really a joke (pun intended). Joker makes it easier on his body by playing so much under control. Trying to cut and dance by people is risking injury. Using strength, body positioning, and skills is not. You won't read many comments about how his style of play is good for his team because it helps to keep him on the court, but it's a point that should be made.

Yup. Just watch Jokic play, not much about his game is really all that high risk of injury. Really his biggest thing is just getting beat up after 70+ games, all the cuts and scratches and that kind of stuff.

He's not flying down the court and skying high for a dunk or layup, which can lead to twisting ankles and ankle sprains if you land wrong or land on someone. He's not putting any pressure on his knee ligaments with super intense cutting.

He's got the old man at the gym style of play. Can play a full game without jumping more than 6 inches off the ground haha. The toughest moves he puts on his knees and ligaments, are low post moves.

There is a reason why in his 11 seasons, 69 games is the least amount of games he's played. His style is as injury proof as you can get in today's NBA. And ya like the saying goes, availability is the best ability. If Jokic misses a game, its basically just do to a sickness, or team resting him for smaller bumps and bruises.

Not really that surprising. He doesn't miss games, and that's the key.

He averaged 26+ ppg and 73 games per season this decade.

More like imagine if he was on a super team or had one actual true bonafide all-star as his wingman.
