think the Warriors would throw in a 2nd or maybe even a swap of their 26' 1st for our 26' 2nd in a trade for Richards possibly?

Also, could Horford even play spot minutes at PF and maybe mentor Ighodaro defensively?
That'd be the value exchange here in a trade for my part. Having Horford mentor both Ighodaro and Fleming. Does he have any juice left though?

Of course if there was any interest, the trade would have to be done by the deadline while Richards is still under contract. But GS could also use the cap relief in a worst case scenario of not resigning him.

Apparently the Flakers do have their own 26' 1st for this upcoming draft (according to tankathon and Fanspo trade machine) but yes, due to the Stepien rules, they'd have to make the pick for us on draft night and Richards is a 5 million expiring currently.

So we'd need to try and extend him before the draft or do a sign "n" trade? I do really Like LaRavia as a backup for Allen to mentor (at 6'8) he'd have good size on the wing too. Would really prefer a Marcus Smart though.

The other team that I think would be heavily interested in Richards would be the Celtics. And they have their 1st in 26' and a really good trade exchange for us could be Richards to the Celtics for Sam Hauser?? Hauser is making 10 million though,

So maybe if we had foresight and could convince Richards to resign for 10 million? Or possibly send O'neale to some team for a good player swap or a late 1st ( San Antonio or Toronto perhaps)?? But definitely someone with more size and athleticism if possible.

Doesn't really work

You can trade a draft propsect after you take them but assuming they want Richards, they want him now, not in the offseason. Then of course you'd have to work out his contract which is expiring as well. LA can only swap that pick for another 2026 FRP but we don't have one to swap.

Yeah, I meant draft rights mainly after the 30 days or so unless they drafted for us with their pick. But even then, Richards is an expiring contract, so we really couldn't even trade him for at least 6 months ( I believe)? After we extend/ resign him.

Really, like you pointed out, it just doesn't work contractually with the timing. Our main pieces we actually do have for trade are Allen and O'neale. But I'm just hesitant about trading Allen with his current fit and impact.

O'neale has been great. But I could part with him for a late 1st or multiple 2nds and not lose too much sleep really. But even then, there's the whole potential play in situation that I'd want him for possibly.

I'd do it for a 2026 pick but not a 2027 one, that's going to be weak.

Can't see the Warriors more or less giving up their 2026 1st for Richards. If it's for a 2nd, they would but I'd hold out for better value than a second round pick in the latter half of the round.

Just realised Carlos Boozer has another son in the 2026 draft. I also didn't realise they were a twin but that the one likely to go top 3 is a 6'9 250lb PF and the other probably going in the late 1st round or early 2nd is a 6'4 205lb PG. What a big difference in size for twins! The smaller brother also looks like he's in his early 30s with a wife and kid lol what an interesting family

I'm wondering if JJJ might become available at some point. The Grizzlies just gave him a big extention, but the team is looking in shambles and might blow things up.

If Green increases his value a bit (hopefully the first game was an indicator of things to come) , I wonder if we can package JG, Royce, Richards + maybe Maluach together for JJJ. I don't think his value is as high as it was prior to the extention, and while the grizz would likely want draft picks they'll get the next best things in two young prospects.

JJJ would be an amazing stretch 4 & elite defender - while Grayson/ Book back court has been good enough to potentially make Green expendable.

So trade our whole team for JJJ lol what can go wrong .

I want Jalen Green, dude is 23 and will be a great player under Ott . Grizzlies suck and JJJ won’t bring us more wins when we take our whole team away

I'm just happy Memphis is doing poorly and Washington is horrible. They both have swap rights with us and we will end up with the worst of the 3. Charlotte is somehow involved but they suck too. So we may end up keeping our pick if they are all worse than us. Or if one is slightly better it should probably be a good pick. It would be nice if Memphis, Washington and us all jumped to top 3 in the lottery, and we ended up the 3rd pick. Though Boston will probably jump to the 1st pick or something, and Indy 2nd with Tatum and Haliburton coming back next year.

I also want to keep Green. He's looked good in his 30 minutes so far, and before this year, he was injury-free. Solid defender, upside, exciting, on a less-than-max contract. IMO, he fits perfectly into our current offensive system.

Here's the real real. His usage rate in those 30 minutes would've topped the league. I don't expect that to persist once he's playing consistently, but it's indicative of what he could be for this franchise, which is either 1B to Booker's 1A, or... Booker's eventual replacement.

We're not in the world of rebuilding, so I'm not in favor of trading Booker. BUT if he ever wanted out, and someone made us a "godfather" offer, we still can't tank. We'd need a replacement for Booker. And if Green's not that guy, there is no guy. In essence, if Green excels, that might give Booker and the franchise the flexibility to separate if it makes sense for both sides.

Not this season, obviously. But I would like to see Booker get a chance to compete for a championship in his prime, whether or not it be in our uniform.

I'm pretty sure we sold the remainder of all those swaps. To Charlotte, IIRC. Not sure, but in any case, I'm pretty darn sure we don't have a pick in 2026 under any scenario.

I thought you had to have a pick every other year. Though I guess we ended up with one last year. Originally it was a swap though. We would have had to trade it after the Houston trade.

I guess maybe you are right, since the other years we swap it says we have a pick incoming. It appears we have a 2027 pick incoming though, as well a a 2028 pick. 2029 no pick, 2030 the worst of us, Washington and Memphis, and no pick in 2031.
