Ty Lue is one of the best coaches in a league, its not his fault every player of his gets outrunned by every other NBA player. Most of this roster should enjoy retirement already, what are they even doing here.

I personally do not remember the world where Lue was a joke. Yeah, some haters on the internet hated him, but that does not mean industry thought he is a joke. He was always well respected, I truly believe Lue had stupid haters on the internet because of his looks, they were posting those Lue open mouth face gifs, where he does looks goofy, like no one would have hated him if he looked like Chris Finch IMO, internet trolls just hating on a guy cause hes a mouth breather basically. In my opinion, Lue is a very good offensive coach.One of the best in the league.. My only criticism is that he switches too much on defense

He'll need that one superstar player that can control and run the offense for him, two other stars, and tons of above average vets.

They have a great roster to blow it up IMO. They can’t get premium assets for any of Harden, Kawhi, Beal, etc. But they could trade all of those guys for a pick or two and get back a decent haul and start to rebuild properly. I’m sure a there are teams who would take on Harden and Kawhi for one decent pick who are on the cusp of contending who they hope those guys could just come be around come playoff time.

I don’t see this happening, but they should. And the sooner the better. With the easy wide open I’m positive a team would make a move for one of those guys if all it meant was a pick.

if youre suggesting moving Kawhi and Harden in a package together, the salary matching makes that nearly impossible. You're literally talking about NINETY MILLION DOLLARS in salary between two players. Not gonna happen

Clippers have three players on contract for 2027. They are not looking to sign or take on any big contracts unless it's a future building block.

The current goal is just have a team that can win games and do it's best to be competitive around James and Kawhi until the next phase of team building.

youre completely correct about the long term plan. Unfortunately it doesnt seem that they have a team that can win games while they wait for contracts to expire. So the plan should probably change to blow it up for whatever picks and young talent they can possibly get while still trying to keep the books clean in 2027. The only difference from the original plan to this one is theyd accept sucking instead of trying not to.

out of about 200 teams that started the season 4-11 since this playoff format started, 13 have made the playoffs. the odds are not on their side. Not saying it wont happen here, but acting like this is just how things happen every year for older teams is incorrect
