This seasons only 29.1, and his best ever was 29.6 points per game.
And in the last 2 years of playoffs he's averaged only 26.2 and 28.7 which is why they fell just short of beating OKC.
But really they need Jokic to score about 32ppg or more in the regular season to have any chance of winning more games than OKC (which was 68 last season, and maybe even more this season) and getting Game 7 at home.
Jokic has averaged 36ppg in his last 5 games, so maybe he's aware of this now... because averaging 12 assists looks nice on paper, but there's always the risk that Murray or others will go cold in a 4th Quarter etc.
It’s like you never watched the Nuggets play.
Nikola Jokić is 73-20 with the Nuggets when recording 12+ assists in his career.
Nikola Jokić is 111-49 with the Nuggets when scoring 30+ points in his career
And if you want I could get nasty and bring up when Jokic scores 32 or more.
That's because there are a lot of games during Jokic's career where Murray and others have shot poorly in the 1st Half and got blown-out, and then Jokic will take over in the 2nd half or 4thQ and finish with 30+ but it'll be too late to get the win.
That's how you get those stats, and that's why I watch Denver play and observe Murray going cold and costing Denver games, which they would have won if Jokic had taken more shots.
But Jokic probably realizes this now, because even though he's only averaging 16.9 attempts this season, he's averaging 20.4 shots in his last 5 games, because Jokic sees OKC headed for 72 wins and he's not taking any chances (knowing Denver need home-court-ad in the playoffs).
