Something they as long following Raptors fans should have easily been able to see.

Now today he wanted to put some respect on Bobby Webster and he said this trade seems like a very Bobby Webster trade. Are you kidding me with these takes?

For what it’s worth, I think Bobby and Masai actually agreed on a lot of the moves this team makes and I think both would have gone for that Ingram trade. There’s a reason why they have been the most successful executive duo in Toronto sports in decades. But dude, don’t switch up like that lol

Will Lou’s bias when it comes to Bobby is insane.

The vibe I get is Bobby once gave him the time of day on a personal level and he’s been smitten ever since.

Well Will does do that. He showed he had a picture of he and FVV in his wallet. And some wonder why he was always ragging on Barnes.

How many games were played when this thread was made? Three games?

He called the draft picks “misses.” That to me implies we missed out on much better players. That is not true. None of the players we missed out on would’ve made a big difference.

Hindsight is 20/20, but Ajay Mitchell wouldn't be a much better option than JaKobe?

15/3/3 player with a TS% of 54% on the best team in the league. He most certainly can get better but the team he’s on helps him look much better than he is. And before it was Missi we missed out on but now it’s Mitchell.

So who are these studs we missed out on? Lol.

Not going to lie, I enjoyed that. You’re missing the point though. Isn’t this thread about how disastrous our draft “misses” were? Clearly they aren’t big misses when you look at who was drafted after. Not to mention Ajay was drafted in the 2nd round. 20-25 picks after Walter.

I think the funniest part of this thread is it was started when we were like 1-2 and now we are 2nd in the East. Thats why it’s pretty funny reading this thread now.

Roster construction seems solid imo. The starters are paid really really well, but they're all performing at or above expectations and the cost of them is offset by all the cheap, quality bench options.

If only we had drafted George and Kessler... we could be the 5-9 Jazz :(

These are old takes right, from the summer? Have any of these guys backtracked or repented recently given the Raptors streak?

i'm happy this take didn't age and glad raps gone 10-1, since starting 1-4

That said, I'm still cautiously optimistic.
Raps have been relatively healthy while they faced a combination of weaker opponents and/or teams with injuries

I say this is more of a 2013/2014 raps version where the team to beat up on weaker competition, occasionally win games against strong competition but get obliterated by truly elite teams

However, I do have a few reason for hope:
- Darko is probably our best all-around coach we ever had. Where else we had coaches that could create great cultures (Casey), or great strategic minds (Nurse), we had one that could develop the bench/players while showing good strategic adjustments
- BI seems like a guy whose game could translate in playoffs unlike Demar
- the rest of the team seem well-rounded

Who was the guy talking to Zach? He was an Atlanta guy, and got to witness the Hawks get blown out by the Raps in their season opener.

That’s the thing though, we haven’t had an easy schedule. I think we’ve had something like 10-11 games on the road so far.

Further proof that bloggers/podcasters are fans first. Bill Simmons has always been Patient Zero in that regard. They aren't journalists, and are not bound by any code of ethics.
