Yeah, Daniss isn’t the most efficient scorer, but he’s got a nice bag and is a nice playmaker.

Maaaaan… if Ivey had this dude’s handle and passing vision, he’d be a superstar.

I feel like Michael Porter JR would be a good add for relatively cheap

Fair-ish value, but I don't see it for either team.

They essentially play the same position. DDV is the mature version of what Ivey might well become, although Ivey still has some untapped potential that may or may not work out. But despite Ivey's potential, he is worse than DDV right now, and in particular, we are yet to see a version of Ivey that addresses the PG hole that MIN has -- and if we do see that from Ivey, DET will want to hang on to him.

I’m a big DDV fan, and he’s definitely a fit in terms of a skills and mindset.

Still reluctant to give up on Ivey, but this is tempting. I wish Donte was locked up longer on that nice contract, but he does still have one more cheap year that Ivey isn’t going to have.

Very tempting.

It's definitely not flashy, but honestly I think this trade would have the potential to work out as well as the Giddey/Caruso swap worked if they decided to go for it. It's one of my favorite 1-for-1 swap ideas I've seen or come up with in a long time.

Putting it that way makes me more reluctant. We’re not a Caruso away from beating OKC, and I don’t want to give you Giddey. :)

 I hear ya...

I think while OKC might be out of play for you, there's a chance to make a run through the East this year Indiana-style. I think Detroit would be smart to go for it this year. Even if there's a tier between you and OKC, this is likely the most wide open the East will be for a while.

I dunno. Who thought Indiana's roster was good enough to take OKC to 7 last year and be a few plays away? Getting there is half the battle.

That said, I'm personally against trading Ivey until we get some time to see how he fits on this current roster. Trajan is still in the evaluation period and I think that's the most prudent path.

MPJ is a solid catch and shoot as well as a rebounder (it’d make Detroit a huge lineup as well). If that’s the asking price, I’d definitely go for it.

Pipe dream, I would inquire for JJJ or Bam Adebayo’s availability. Stewart is fine player, and he’s best suited as a sixth man providing a jolt to the team.

During last postseason as well this regular season, Ivey hasn’t played at all. If the negotiations go south, it’s time to check bis value in the trade market

No but I would easily send Portland 2 1sts for Camara.

One would need to be a lotto pick.

If Detroit had a lotto pick I would do it, I don't expect Detroit to be in the lotto anytime soon, but he is worth it.

He’s been excellent. Young, terrific defensive legit with a 3 point shot on a great contract. That is valuable.

May not be able to keep Deni, but that’s another conversation.

We can’t afford to pay Deni whst he’s going to want on his next deal and keep the rest of our team together anyway. It’s just like Lauri or JJJ or anyone else mentioned — Cade + future Duren + max new guy = trouble for the rest of the roster.

I made this thread ten days ago and we haven’t lost yet. Nothing but positive developments from the roster we have. It’s time to acknowledge I jumped the gun and nothing is likely to happen before the TDL at the earliest.

It’s a great time to be a Pistons fan.

Why change the special space?

The East is up for grab and we have 12-13 players that deserve minutes (Sasser will have a chance to play), we could make a couple consolidating trades. More shooting would be welcome.

14 players, honestly, once Sasser is back. Chaz has looked good in his playing time.

I wouldn't say he looked good, he was sericeable at best. He was a 2nd round pick, so he gave us more than expected, but he is not a NBA rotation player.

He's played solid defense (by the eye test) and shot the ball well from three. I'm not saying he's starter material.
