I thought we would be lucky to be above 500 at Christmas, but last night was kind of amazing how active we were and how well we closed that game without Booker (and him having a terrible game going 4-18) while we also were missing Green and Allen. I also love to see the camaraderie between the players. It feels like we haven't seen that in a long time. In fact I can't really remember the last time we did...where there wasn't at least some friction between players. The finals year was great, but it didn't feel like this. Even 2014 it didn't feel like this, except maybe when Bledsoe was out. 2004-5 was great but it still didn't feel quite like this. And then after that it felt someone was always disappointed. Maybe 2005-6 was close too. 2006-7 was maybe our best team since 93 but that was when discontent started to grown some with Marion, etc.

It will be the 2010 forever for me. I will hate Ron Artest for the rest of my life for taking that possible dream scenario away from us.
That team was special.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. That one was great, and deep.

This guy was my original center option in the 25' draft with a 2nd round pick. That strategy was to allow us to select a power forward in the first round ( possibly in a trade back scenario) while also looking to pick up another pick in the same draft OR another 1st in a future draft.

Ironically, we could've like down that Pels deal using the 10th pick and still gotten Fleming (or Raynaud) at 23, and then Zisarsky ( 7'3) in the 2nd round.

We also would be sitting on a premium Pels unprotected 26' 1st that would've replaced our 26 first we traded into oblivion. Man is hindsight ironic.

Wow you should be the GM!

I think that 64 win season had a lot of similar vibes but I wonder how much of it was due to just being so dominant and being able to bury some of those issues unaddressed because "winning cures all". Those cracks really broke out out when the going got seriously tough in that Mavs series which culminated with that Monty/DA exchange towards the end. And vibes just never really got better. Not until now

lilfishi22 wrote:Still early in the season and we haven't had the strongest schedule so far but it's worth doing a quick stock take of where we are compared to the previous two seasons where we were suppose to be a top 3 offensive team and a good enough defensive team.

2023-2024

ORTG: 116.8 (#10)
DRTG: 113.7 (#13)
Net RTG: 3.1 (#8)
TS%: 60.3% (#4)
3P%: 38.2% (#5)
3PA: 38.2 (#25)

2024-2025
ORTG: 114.7 (#13)
DRTG: 117.7 (#27)
Net RTG: -3.0 (#23)
TS%: 59.5% (#4)
3P%: 37.8% (#3)
3PA: 38.0 (#21)

2025-2026
ORTG: 117.3 (#9)
DRTG: 113.2 (#14)
Net RTG: 4.1 (#11)
TS%: 59.7% (#11)
3P%: 38.2% (#6)
3PA: 38.0 (#12)

We've since improved

ORTG: 118.7 (#8)
DRTG: 113.7 (#13)
Net RTG: 5.0(#9)
TS%: 59.7% (#9)
3P%: 38.4% (#3)
3PA: 40.1 (#8)

All that being said, we've had a bottom 3 strength of schedule so far so that's certainly attributed to those rankings. Let's see how we go over the next month as we head into Xmas.

Go Suns!

Also worth pointing out we're one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to committing turnovers but we've been able to survive because we're also the 2nd best team in the league in steals. We have a 14.6% TOV% but we force 14.7% TOV% on the other team. We're #3 in the league in "stocks" which shows how active we are on the defensive end.

Those steals (10.8spg, just behind OKC's 10.9spg) and offensive rebounds (3rd in ORB%) are getting us extra opportunities that we otherwise wouldn't have because we actually run a pretty slow pace (#20 in the league) nor do we get to the line all that often (#27, 22.6FTA)

I applaud the fine. Hopefully Brooks is mature enough to learn from it. I doubt it though
