Not an exciting one, but one that makes us better, nonetheless.
Charlotte in: Looney and Miller
New Orleans in: RD
Minnesota in: Alvarado and Plumlee

I don’t think Minnesota would be comfortable trading Naz Reid which instantly kills the package (omitting Gobert/Edwards/McDaniels/Randle). I would take the risk, but I get why others wouldn’t. I think the Clippers would consider the package I keep spamming at the Trade Deadline, if he asked out (honestly, he might just be happy in LA, which would makes it dead on arrival).
Funnily enough, I Googled his stats and just learned that he dropped 55 today. This post was completely written without that knowledge.
Guy is inconsistent come playoff time.

I think this is my favorite trade opportunity.
Ya"ll are talking about Harden and Paul, but I got crickets when I proposed this one!

We aren't beating okc but getting rid of Randle no matter what works. Good work!

Don't know what to tell you man. Have a way better chance of beating okc with my lineup than the current one.

shrink wrote:I continue to see the Clippers struggling and hope for the Chris Paul. He just announced he will retire at the end of the year, and maybe just wants to retire with the Clippers, but if the competitive Paul wants to be on a contender, we would likely start him. For those that say we need a traditional PG, you can’t get more traditional than Paul. He still is a smart defender and can make assists, and no one in the NBA has more experience throwing lobs, so he’d add three dunks a game for Gobert. At 40, he can’t bring much else, but we could have used his professionalism last night,and we would have a youthful Mike Conley (38) to back him up. He’s on a vet min, which is out price range.
I love Chris Paul and wouldn't be opposed to it, but being honest, the wheels have really come off this season. It's been pretty rough, even though I think he could help the team in small spurts.
The big issue though is that Chris Paul specifically went to the Los Angeles Clippers because his family lives in Los Angeles and he wanted to finish his career in an environment where he can go home to his family most nights. I think he has zero interest in leaving that situation.

I just don't understand this line of thinking. You certainly can't reach this assessment based on:
* His productivity.
* His contract.
* His position and lack of depth behind him.
* His attitude.
* The way he handles his business off the court.
You can make a strong argument that he's been our best player this year. My guess is that you're still bitter about the KAT trade and hold him accountable for it. What else could it be?

Julius randle will not be on any championship winning roster unless he is at the end of his playing career. Same goes for KAT.
Anyone that thinks Julius can win a championship in the near future doesn't understand the intangibles of winning bb.

Loaf obviously despises Randle and it defies all logic.

Good grief. You should probably start an immediate global campaign to remove the following players from the HOF for lack of "winning intangibles":
Elgin Baylor
Pete Maravich
George "The Iceman" Gervin
Charles Barkley
Allen Iverson
Karl Malone
John Stockton
Patrick Ewing
Reggie Miller
Steve Nash
Apparently, your loaf of bread is missing a few slices, sir. For your sake, please stay far away from the toaster.

Re: Trade Talk (Part 18): Early Season Panic Edition
The only reason I would trade Julius Randle is because he gets us the best return outside of Edwards. The player I would be looking to trade most right now is Gobert, and it has nothing to do with how he's playing as much as what he's paid. There was another thread about predictions and I stated that we will see multiple big trades that reshape the roster after struggling. This team has no general, it often feels like it has no plan. Mike Conley Jr of 5 to 10 years ago even completely changes what we have. But that's not who he is anymore and we don't have anyone like it on the roster. I go back to trading anybody not named Edwards or McDaniels (it would take a lot for me to move Jaden).
And it's time for a new coach...

If winning over the next 2-3 years matters to you at all then Rudy is probably the 2nd to last guy you wanna trade. He also doesn’t make that much - he makes starter money.
Calling for a new coach is a joke take.

I disagree as well, but in Loaf’s defense, Randle played badly in his first two playoff appearances in NYK. Despite the heavy load, and playing injured, the New York press scapegoated him, and I think that reputation of being a poor playoff performer stuck with him (and fortunately for us, made him available in trade!)
I think those concerns disappeared after Randle’s spectacular playoff series against the Lakers and the Warriors. OKC has made everyone look bad and crushes their overall stats. Despite that, Randle averaged 21.7 PPG on a .568 eFG%. He was the Wolves’ best playoff player, not Ant.

Rudy is the player that would benefit the most from Wolves having even mediocre PG play
yes, his hands aren't great but there isn't any reason he still can't be a top roller, lob threat
I see people propose trades for guys like Gafford are similarly "dependent" players as Rudy in terms of needing to be setup with the ball rather than able to get their own baskets, what is Gafford going to do with the Wolves PGs??

First off, winning or winning a championship? Because all I care about is getting a trophy. Secondly, whether or not we win would be tied to what we get back in return. Lastly, you say he doesn't make that much, approximately 36 million a year. I believe that puts him in the top six or seven paid centers in the league. I wouldn't say that's average starter money. Now listen, I like Rudy. But his drop off has been the most evident to me, he still has high value because of his brain and ability to play defense intelligently. He still has physical tools because of his size and general health. To me, it's his physical athleticism that seems to have dropped off. The reason I said he would be the first person I would try to trade is because I feel like he would likely be the easiest one to trade right now. But like I said he would not be the only one I traded.
Now, as far as firing Finch goes. I have not cared for a finch for a long time. I don't like free-flowing, I don't like his style of coaching, I don't like the way his teams often seem unprepared. That being said, you cannot argue with his success. But you do have to wonder if the wolves have outgrown him. The nuggets seem to be doing fine without Malone? Other teams seem to be doing fine when they move on from coaches.

It's the only trade worth pursuing. Ant, Giannis, Gobert would be the best big 3 in the league, and probably the only version of things where we win a chip any time in this iteration (Ants future). We'd have to fill out the rest of the team very creatively but I think we could still pull it off.
We'd probably have to pray to hold onto TSJ
DDV/Conley
Edward/ Clark
TSJ
Giannis/Reid
Gobert
We'd have to sign some buyout candidates or free agents like Malik Beasley, Middleton, Bol Bol, McCollum, etc.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
