IMO the best case scenario is that this team is a pesky 7-8 seed that loses in the first round yet again. That’s including Giannis and KPJ while also crossing my fingers that we’re relatively healthy come April.

We’ve been on that treadmill for awhile now and it feels like everyone is waiting for something to shake loose organizationally. Needless to say, I hope our future contains Giannis but this current team’s ceiling is not what he signed up for.

It just feels like a repeat of the last two seasons. Uninspired coaching coupled with a clunky roster.

I don't think Simmons wants to play anymore.

Now, Tristen Newton, the tough, smart PG from the UConn championship, has become more than just a game manager and defender. He's now averaging 27 ppg, 9.4 asp, and 2.7 spg on 66TS% in the G League. We should sign him immediately. We could cut Sears or Coffey.

The 2023-24 squad starters that were absolutely boat-racing other teams that year to the tune of like, +15 and +13 (even without Khris) net-ratings were the last real shot these guys had at being a top-tier championship team. Hire Kenny Atkinson instead of mush-brain Adrian Griffin, and none of us can even fathom how differently things play out. Horst gets a lot of **** for his drafting, but if he had been left to his own devices on coaching hires, I'll keep repeating that he'd be batting 2-for-2 right now. Donte being his lone, successful draft choice when he was clearly a "Bud" plug-and-play guy isn't a coincidence. It's much easier for a GM to build a roster when the infrastructure and coaching staff have some semblance of a coherent identity. We have none, and haven't for nearly 3-years.

Hat tip to Sims and Ajax. The defenses was expected, but what I really love was the passing. Ajax is finally functioning within the concepts of the offense. Combined for 9 assists, and numerous hockey assists.

There's no reason Coffey or Gary Harris should ever play over Ajax going forward. Yes, Ajax can be out of control at times, but the energy and athleticism is much needed. And it looks like the game is slowing down for him a little offensively, he finally looked like the kind of connector that made him the most impactful guy on that first UCONN title team.

I liked the look of him playing with Rollins and AJ offensively, either as the 3 or small ball 4. He was actively searching for them to get them looks. It was refreshing.

Coffey, I understand but Gary Harris has played great on both ends. He has always been good but he is just injury prone. I'm fine with Harris and Ajax getting minutes. The second unit will never have the offensive fire power without KPJ back so their best bet is to go all in on defense and hope that they create turnovers that lead to easy buckets.

Starters have played 9 minutes together. Assuming Giannis and KPJ return at the same time I'll give them 20 games to see what it looks like.

Except we didn't have a budding Rollins and moe moble Center to add in. Kuz x-factor on D and transition too.. we're a little different. I want to see it too

While Giannis is out, I’d prefer Ajax starting over any starting lineup that features both Kuz and Bobby.

That feels way off. Giannis and KPJ being available is a pretty big difference from this team. I see no reason they’re lower than 6th if they don’t get reinjured
