it is a fun thread to read back through, if we were winning some games Kon is probably an all star

So many strongly held completely wrong opinions!

This is fair. Can we just let kon be the 1st kon. Enjoy the ride.

Love the recognition this kid is getting.

At this point I have no reason to believe he might actually be the best player in this draft. Yes I think he can be better than Flagg longterm. His shooting ability is going to set him apart from everyone else.

I just wish he was a little more selfish with his shots. He's so efficient that he needs to be shooting a lot more. Hopefully that comes with time.

Even Miles said this kid has been our best player this year. Even the vets believe the hype.

He will be even better when/if they ever get some good, experienced smart players around him.

Clearly he has performed well beyond anyone’s expectations on this board. If Kon can develop additional variations on his skill set, he could be Birdesque.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I dont think Reggie's take here is too crazy. I could see Steph's record getting topped within the next few decades considering the amount of 3s taken now adays. Won't necessarily be by Kon, but not a terrible guess considering his start.

I also predict Kobe's 81 will be topped in the next few seasons and see someone score over 100 in our lifetimes. The bias towards offensive players has been that rough.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

I think it's clear Kon is a high level NBA player and may very well win rookie of the year, but I'd urge caution at trying to project some kind of astronomic ascendance going forward. first of all, he's not exactly a create-his-own-3-point-shot kind of player right now. awesome catch and shoot, half decent step back, and a bitching quick release are working in his favor, but he's not a creator as it stands right now.

that's a place where Steph is still set apart from Kon with pretty bright boundaries at this point. if anything, in terms of development I would say expect more improvement in his driving/finishing ability, if only because his shot will bring gravity to the defense to crash on him, giving him more open looks to get into the paint.

I'll need to see him straight up take over a game a few times to envision some kind of first-team all-NBA player in the future. as it is right now, he's just absolutely acing his current role as a, idk, 1B/1C/2A scoring option with high efficiency? that's great btw. just not anything on the level of Stephen Curry, 3 point accomplishments in their first seasons be damned.

Stephen Curry takes are ridiculous, he's definitely more Chris Mullin :D

He better be in the 3 point contest.
