There is a bar I go to often on Friday and Saturday nights. If the Wizards are on, I ask the bartender to put the game on. He hates it. He says no one wants to watch that crap.
PIF, you said you were going to put me on ignore, and you advised people not to engage me. Please stay true to your desires.

I live in dewey beach. We might have had a beer together.

PIF and I get together periodically now that he’s local. Once even at a poetry event. It’s cool meeting in real life others who are passionately and pointlessly devoted to this hapless team. Much as I’ll argue online with any of y’all there’s something more fun about having those arguments in real life. Like a really stupid secret club that doesn’t even have its own handshake, just a code language that knows the difference between Win Shares and Win Score.

Badinage & I also get together from time to time -- & IMO the more of these real-world encounters the better, IMO.

Hence...
Why don't we have a WizBoard meet-up?

Doc & I have been talking about this idea, & we're hoping there's some interest. I know Badinage would be interested, & I hope most of you will!

Personally, I would really enjoy it! Especially meeting those among you with whom I interact frequently here. (actually... i guess that's most of you!)

Leswizards, you get to drive in from the beach.
&, of course, we'll all chip in to fly in the Ohio contingent -- not to mention the Honalulu contingent! :)

What do you say, gang...?

Zards... if you come I'll bring you a vintage Clifford Brown/Max Roach Quintet LP!!
but I'm not bribing any of the rest of you!

Wow PIF I think you’re living very close to the home I grew up in. My family home was a 15 minute walk from the intersection of Forest Glen Road and Seminary. As kids we called the area by the train station the castle. And nearby was an old general store/candy shop my friends would buy 10 sour grape balls for a nickel. Two fireballs for a penny.

I will be 65 in February. I have posted on this forum since 2001. There are (at least) three regular Wizards board contributors who are older than I am. Several of you are over 50. For years, I've thought there's a screenplay in our stories.

The main story would be how Cocoa Crispman Juniper and his cyber buddies revolutionize scouting, drafting, and win the NBA championship. There would be experts from your professions. Actual cameos by Winger, Dawkins, and Keefe would hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy for the third consecutive year in 2031. Enough of that idea.

Yeah, there should be regular Wizards Board meets and greets. Send PMs to one another. If you're heading to Oahu. Send a PM. I can meet you. Roddy has a busy job, but I think he can meet you, TOO. We both like California Pizza, and one Chinese restaurant in Ala Moana Mall.

Happy Thanksgiving

Quincy Wilson chose Maryland in case any of you are Terrapin track fans.

All are welcome to Oahu! We should have a tortured Wizards fan get together here.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I was looking for this thread on Wednesday.
We had to put our beautiful ginger tabby down.

Yup -- the "castle" is at the intersection of Linden & Seminary! A few steps from Forest Glen.... For info about the NPS & its history check out https://saveourseminary.org/.

I'm patient about how soon but know I like having a cat around.
My wife is less eager. I hope she comes around in the
fullness of time.

If I ever feel that is necessary for me to eat crow about this tank and this front office, I will come to DC and let you (plural), public shame me.

Otherwise, if any of you are in dewey beach, and see someone who looks a hell of a lot like Brian Daboll, it is probably me.
