Why doesnt chris finch play dillingham more? Theres no reason old man Conley should be getting robs minutes to develop.

Maybe because he stinks and the Wolves are trying to win games? It's Year 2 and he's actually gotten worse.

The guy isn’t even old enough to go and buy a shot of tequlia.
Wolves made a calculated risk to trade for him, it is on him to play better but also for them to help him develop.

My first impression of the trade was that Minny did well. However, I have changed my stance. San Antonio gets an unprotected high variable first for the 8th pick in a weak draft. A very puzzling move by Minnesota that could turn disastrous depending on their situation in 2031.
That said, I haven't watched the Wolves play so I don't know how to rate Dillingham. What I do know is that they could have done much better in a trade with that pick.

I personally wanted San Antonio to take Castle and Edey. Edey and Wemby together would have been a nightmare to deal with.

Spurs got 2 things:
1) 2031 TWolves FRP (unprotected)
2) 2030 TWolves swap (top 1 protected).
The pick was the most valuable asset they sent to the Kings in the Fox trade. The swap they still have.

80% of the T&T forums still haven't figured that out, judging by the trades they propose.

Man they just need to thrust him into that starting role for like 18 minutes. Swallow some mistakes. Edwards is running PG duties anyway, so you can have him in there as a scorer.
At some point you have to figure out what you have. See how he's doing after a month of that. Wolves have not paid enough attention to in house growth.

Dillingham isn't the only talented guy drafted from the past few drafts that can't get minutes due to landing spot. There's simply not enough minutes to go around and the league needs expansion. Finch is trying to win a championship so while it's dumb to not at least try, especially given Conley's age and it being a long season, he's a fraudulent head coach and can't be bothered to try and develop a young player and deal with the expected ups and downs. Yes he's their best PG at this point given how washed Conley is and there's nobody else on the roster but they're paying Conley huge bucks, he's more experienced and Finch is trying not to lose his job which is a very real possibility if they fail to go deep in the playoffs. I promise you, pretty much any guy currently sitting on an NBA bench or in the G-League could replicate the #4 or #5 starter's production. Dillingham might not give you much defense but which PGs in the NBA currently are? He was a bad pick regardless of Conley because he needs the ball in his hands and Edwards does too. Wolves are morons.

It's all very nice with Finch, the TWolves and all, but let's not pretend like Dillingham has nothing to do with his situation. I have a very hard time believing other guards from his class like Castle, Sheppard, McCain, Ajay Mitchell and Jamal Shead would not be getting more playing time even in the same team and with the same coach, the difference is that their game is more conducive to winning basketball than Dillingham's is right now.

His fellow Kentucky teammate reed sheppard was in similad predicament only difference is Houston still kept playing him to develop him and build his confidence. Granted he lucked out w/ fred van fleet injury but they could have easily made an acquisition for a pg when that happened but they stayed put. What is minny doing?

Doesn't matter who the GM is. When Adam decides the Lakers need help, they get help.
