Since Barrett’s injury Raptors offensive rating has plummeted to last in the league

Post#1 » by Truthrising » Sun Nov 30, 2025 1:40 pm

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nba/article/raptors-takeaways-offensive-concerns-barretts-absence-peak-in-streak-busting-loss/

Over the Raptors' last three games, their offensive rating has plummeted to last in the league, along with their true shooting mark (51.9 per cent). They shot 44.4 per cent from the field and 31 per cent from beyond the arc against the Hornets, all while the Raptors' halfcourt efficiency ranked 42nd percentile among the 16 teams that played on Saturday night.

Last 2 games Dick, CMB, Shead and Ochai are shooting 4-28.

That's not from 3, that's EVERYWHERE.

Getting nothing offensively from 4/5 bench guys is going to kill you. Mamu meanwhile 13/26 last 3 games....doing his part.

He's a mediocre player but the function that he does provide is extremely unique to our roster and subjectively adds a lot of value to our offense.

it's a shame that no one has really been able to step up and make use of the spotlight given with his absence. walter has been okay but he's not nearly ready yet.

so yep, this short stretch has showcased rj's value as a steady scorer in an offense prone to going cold at times and the way he scores is crucial to this team offering a diverse look with his bully ball play.

certainly making a good case to be kept on long-term with another contract.

Really disappointed in Jakobe and Gradey.

I thought this was their chance. They are just tanking their trade values at this point.

Never forget the live-streamed Palestinian genocide.

He balances out the offense which makes him an extremely valuable player. Much more than any stats or advanced metrics could show.

This was to be expected. RJ is a talented offensive player & this starting lineup is kind of "sum of all parts".

We don't have anyone remotely close to RJ coming off the bench. RJ's cutting and transition play is missed for sure.

I still think this team needs a more experienced/ proven bench guard. I think even Lawson would be better than Walter and Dick, but we are still partially in development mode.

give all of Ochai and Gradey's minutes to Battle and Lawson and I guarantee we win last night's game. I don't even know what they have done so far this season to deserve more minutes than Battle and Lawson.

A good barometer of how valuable RJ is to this team.... and no subs come close to replacing him.

I wouldn't say expected to this extent where we go from elite top 5 ish offense to worst in the league with RJ out. Certainly doesn't bode well for what to expect when Ingram misses time either.

The entire Starting Lineup is valuable in their own way without anybody else on the team that can replace what they do individually.

Ingram getting a lot of heat and he is doing TOO much, but these guys pulling disappearing acts is a big part of why he's been forcing more shots.

shouldn't be surprising, we've already seen in previous seasons that the team misses RJ's scoring

I expected the team to miss him & expected the team to struggle more.

They looked more like last years team. Just a struggle to take control of the game.

But, does struggle more equate to worst offensive in the league bad? RJ alone shouldn't be the difference between top 5 offense and worst in the league is what I'm saying.

Most people expected them to miss RJ and what he does but you still expect some guys to step up in his place and seize the opportunity of more mins available.

RJ is the one guy that can effectively get to the rim, which gives our offense an entirely different dimension. None of Ochai/JKW/Dick can do that.

Only if we had a great shooter available to play ahead of these guys...

Wild that we can be a broken record but Darko seems oblivious. It doesnt mean youre giving up on Dicks/Walters/Ochai's future, it means youre rewarding players who are performing better right now.

Part of competition is supposed to be fighting for minutes so if youre not playing then you're working extra hard to get back on the court.

Ingram getting a lot of heat and he is doing TOO much, but these guys pulling disappearing acts is a big part of why he's been forcing more shots.

Then add in IQ shooting 37.7% overall and 22.7% from 3 while taking 5 more shots than normal.

Hardly anyone is making shots.
