Clippers are a repeat offender. I'm old enough to remember them trading their 2011 pick (which became #1 Kyrie Irving) for Mo Williams.

Re: Rest of league panicking about OKC having the Clippers pick
OKC is overrated. They get exposed in the POs.
Clippers gonna start winning games and make the playoffs
Danny Ainge won't let the Utah pick convey.
What else can I do to counter jynx all this stuff I read about my team?

It’s really a world-class clinic in asset management. As a Laker fan who’s very optimistic about what our team can accomplish in the next few years, I’m also a bit concerned about OKC having multiple lottery picks coming in. I’m sure a lot of other fanbases in the West feel the same way.
Also, LOL Clippers.
Also, LOL Clippers.

Its not that Presti is such a great GM. Its that he has great relationships with all the bad GMs.

Eh, this is kinda lame. Yes this OKC team proved a lot of doubters wrong last year but the last two things are good context and also are totally beyond the control of the team or franchise. UTA will be very motivated to keep the pick and seem likely to do so (no guarantee of course but I'd bet on it rn) and the Clippers aren't very likely to end up the 5th worst team either (I would definitely bet against PO though). It's not mindless hatred of OKC to say that these picks won't work out in the best possible way for them. Seems most likely they end up without the Jazz pick and with maybe a #8-10 pick (Clips) and a #14-15 (Sixers), which is still pretty sweet. And lotto luck could spring them higher.

yeah I think so too. Jazz will tank sooner or later and Ainge has done it enough times to know it. Also teams like the Clippers and Pelicans won't care about winning games late in season. Finishing with #10 and #14 would be very good already.

Your team is going to be mostly 'shoulda been Clippers' in another year or 2, so may as well...

I don't see the Thunder getting the number one pick unless they trade SGA to the Lakers.

Presti became a GM when he wasn't even 30 years old and the first thing he basically did was trade Ray Allen, send Rashard Lewis away for two first round draft picks and draft KD. He tanked two more seasons to get Westbrook and Harden.
One of the picks he got from the Lewis trade became Serge Ibaka.
I get that what you're saying is a bit in jest here, but Presti has been "running" from the beginning.

When you really do a deep dive, all the current contenders and recent champions have been built either by taking advantage of moronic GMs or some underhanded, questionable backdoor dealings. Or in some cases a lil bit of both.

Re: Rest of league panicking about OKC having the Clippers pick
Thunder currently have the
5th pick LAC
9th pick Jazz
14th pick 6ers
27th pick Rockets.
They also have Topic the top rated pg from his draft and Thomas Sorber top rated defensive center in his draft, out with injury.
They should use that 5th pick and trade the other 3 for multiple future 1st rd picks. Turn the extra 3 picks to 6 future 1sts.
Heartenstien/Sober
Chet/JY Williams
5th pick/Dort
JE Williams/Caruso

Presti should offer Adam Silver a 1st round pick to the Lakers in exchange for changing roster size to 18 players.

I feel like Cash Considerations needs to be in this trade. Very important grease on the wheels.
Cheers

Just a little correction here:
Rashard Lewis was S&T to Orlando for a trade exception. Funny enough that exception went back to the days when Jack Sikma was sent from Seattle to Milwaukee. Presti did the following:
1) Acquiring and trading Kurt Thomas. Robert Sarver was a cheapskate and Presti saw a golden opportunity to eat his salary and got 2 1sts in 2008 and 2010. Then flipped him to San Antonio for an additional 1st. One of those became Ibaka, the other 2 fizzled out.
2) Trading Ibaka. After Durant left, Presti traded him to Orlando and made a fool out of his former protege Rob Hennigan by taking on Oladipo, Sabonis and Ilyasova.
3) Turned Ersan+ a top 20 pro. 1st that became Tyrese Maxey to Philly for Jerami Grant. Amazingly Grant went from unused to a legit rotation player who got paid. Then flipped Grant to Denver for a 2020 1st rounder, then gave it back to the Nuggets in exchange for a 2023 1st. He managed to take advantage of Booth's desperation and got a 27 1st round pick as well as a 2029 1st.
4) Flipped Sabonis and Oladipo into PG-13. Hell of a deal that kept Russ happy as he signed his extension and PG-13 signed immediately.
5) Managed to flip Russ and PG-13 for killer value. The latter is still paying dividends while the former is wrapping up in this year's draft.
A killer run and hitting on multiple picks, FA signings and reclamation projects not to mention some nice trades with a few misses here and there. What a unit. Give that man some ownership stake.

Ah right, wrote that from memory, it gets a bit fuzzy going back 17 years

There's a good argument for it. Who are the counters?
Pop/Buford
Riley
I think he's already surpassed Krause due to the latter's fall from grace late in his career. I think he still needs some hardware to surpass those other two but he's been amazing consistently for decades now.
Jerry West
Red Auerbach

not coincidence that presti along with riley, west and auerbach are the only executives in league history to have multiple 60+ wins seasons with entirely different rosters
