Probably done it, but you cannot select a player in a season with a team if he ever won a title with that team. For example, you could take Durant on any OKC season but no GSW season since he won a title with GSW.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I think we didn't do it.

Cool concept, downside would be it might feel similar to older ideas like No First Club Rings (pool would be similar)

According to ChatGPT, this is the list since 1990:

1990 Portland Trail Blazers, 1991 Los Angeles Lakers, 1995 Houston Rockets, 1999 New York Knicks, 2004 Detroit Pistons, 2006 Dallas Mavericks, 2007 San Antonio Spurs, 2009 Orlando Magic, 2010 Boston Celtics, 2011 Dallas Mavericks, 2018 Cleveland Cavaliers, 2020 Miami Heat, 2021 Milwaukee Bucks, 2022 Golden State Warriors, 2023 Miami Heat, 2024 Dallas Mavericks, 2025 Indiana Pacers

We'll use these years only

I think this idea had potential. We can use any guy who played on those teams (without 50% games on the team requirement), so it adds some guys like 2020 Crowder, 2018 George Hill or 2021 PJ Tucker.

I was also missing 2002 Los Angeles Lakers

Since this is a limited pool, we can expand it to 60s and on, and add:

1969 Boston Celtics, 1976 Phoenix Suns, 1977 Portland Trail Blazers, 1978 Seattle SuperSonics, 1978 Washington Bullets, 1980 Philadelphia 76ers, 1981 Houston Rockets, 1982 Philadelphia 76ers

Anyone who played for SAS/DAL/HOU like the SoCal draft?
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

Not a draft, but one of those where you make the best roster you can using the normal roster rules (exactly 8 players, each must play at least 8 minutes, max 88 FGA) within the following parameters, then send it in to the commish, and then we rank.

The THANKSGIVING Draft. Each of your players must have a first or last name that begins with one of those letters. Seeing as there are 12 letters in the word, you wouldn't use 4 of them. You can't double dip on the same letter, aka if you use Thanasis for T you can't also use Tristan Thompson. But there are a few repeat letters in the word, like there are 2 I's so you can take both Isaac Okoro and Jonathan Isaac.

Ex:
T - Thanasis Antetokounmpo
H - Hasheem Thabeet
A - N/A
N - Nate Robinson
K - Kevon Looney
S - Josh Smith
G - Gerald Green
I - Isaac Okoro
V - N/A
I - Jonathan Isaac
N - N/A
G - N/A

There’d need to be some sort of restriction on the teams.

I’d worry you’d get a lot of samey teams though.

We did this recently but 90s and on.

I think "only All NBA First but no MVPs" will be interesting, no other All Stars are available

Tbh this is only recent idea that interests me right now.

For me going forward I'm like Fade- I'm probably only signing up for games that have unusual formats or player pools. Probably also down for a pairs draft from time to time- like the one we do every Christmas.

At least for now- that's just kind of where I'm at for these games. I've played just so so many of them over the years.

Kinda tempted to suggest an Elden Campbell draft even though he probably doesn't clear the cut of significance, though he had an important role for the 90s Lakers. I think his franchise pool is also interesting - Lakers Hornets Pelicans OKC Detroit Nets.

Just realized Gus Williams died this year and he missed the opportunity to have a draft around him. He's a more notable legend.

I think this could be an interesting scavenger hunt:

OKC
Warriors
Washington
Atlanta
Brother in the league
70s Champ
Ever had a season of All NBA without All Star (excluding the 1999 lockout)
Surname Williams (can add Williamson)
