If Scottie isn't on all of the allstar , allnba and all defensive teams, we riot.

That seems likely, yes. Also gives us a little time to see if any of our guys can make themselves more worthwhile, or at least more valuable.

Yup, obviously that changes if Jak gets a long term injury in which case we will need to do something. If it's just sitting out B2B's for now, it's not the most pressing need.

The 4th quarter when Yak sits, we played SB, CMB, BI, IQ and Shead. Blazers was scoring with 56%. A guy like Grant can score easily with SB guards him under the basket.

Put a 7 foot stiff out there and you're giving up open 3's and getting killed in PNR. You're always giving up something.

Having a 7 footer in the paint instead of SB, you got SB in position to rotate, to play help defence and on perimeter. Put SB under the basket you take away his strengths as defender, and taxing on his body to go against bigger center.

Was really impressed with his mid-range game last night...he has such talent, he can shoot over anyone at any time, he just needs to develop that consistency and improve his footwork.

They could have used Mamu if they wanted this game for that stretch

He is a rather large underdog at 13/1.

His chances will depend on how many games we win and whether other guys can reach that 65 game threshold.

If we don't win at least 50 games, no way Barnes will be considered.

Yeah I dont think he’ll win it. Wemby has it locked if he makes the 65 game threshold. He probably wont but even then, Chet and Rudy are more in line to win it. Scottie should make an All Defensive team if he keeps this up though.

Of course.

But doubtful Wemby reaches the threshold, he's already missed 8 games and likely to miss at at least another 3-4 games before he returns.

Chet has also had injury issues in College and last year missed 50 games, so we'll see.

As I said, Barnes will have to continue playing at this level for the rest of the year and we will have to win 50+ games and be a top 2-3 seed in the East for him even to have a chance. Based on those conditions, the likelihood of course is low.

Shhhh don’t jinx it!!

I think the shot is here to stay. His form hasn’t fallen apart yet. His footwork and release point is consistent whether he’s shooting a three, a fadeaway, the midrange, or a FT. And his makes are all hitting back rim or swishing. He’s showing signs that he’s learning how to shoot.

Chet just needs to play 65 games to win it. It's impossible for anyone else to win it if he does with how good OKC's defense has been.

lol it's still muted optimism right now until he does it over an entire season. Even then, he's alternated between good and bad seasons his entire career, so year 6 still makes me nervous.

It’s wild that the front office started this season saying they wanted Barnes to sit in the dunkers spot and to be a screener. Can you imagine wanting to take the ball out of the hands of your best decision maker?

I’m not worried tbh. Year 2 was a wake up call and a different role. Year four was going fine until the injuries and management punted the season and instructed him to get as many shots up as possible.

I think he’s just going to keep improving honestly and by year 7 we will see something approaching his final form.

He's taken strides this season. Happy for him and for the team. Cap wise we lucked out he wasn't performing like this last year. If he made all nba last season, he could have been eligible for 30% of the cap instead of 25%.

Dude if he develops a bag in the midrange without falling off in other areas then he’d be a top 5 player.

he needs better stamina to be a top 5 player, esp come playoff time

Impossible to say without seeing how he does with playoff basketball. Some players elevate their game in the playoffs, some gets game-planned againstand falls off a cliff. he's TBD for me right now.
