I didn’t say OG + Mitch would net you the deal, Fury did lol
I said KAT + OG is probably the deal
Or shipping KAT to a third team, which could net you 2-3 picks, combined with our 1st and the Washington pick.
If this is the deal, he would have to demand a trade to NY so that we don’t deplete the roster in a deal

ok got it...yeah I think KAT ends up going to MIL and then OG would got to a contender type team for 3 1st round picks or something like that to ship that over for Giannis....and Knicks might have to add in something else Wash pick or some swaps.

Or it might not include OG and Leon surprises us by just including KAT + fillers

there is no way just KAT lands Giannis...same way OG by himself wouldn't either.

It would have to be KAT and OG IMO

Can Brunson, Bridges and Giannis win? I dunno.

The NBA is different.

Mannnnn Giannis is a top two player in the league RIGHT NOW. You pair him with the best PG in the East and we figure out the rest later

They'd be figuring out 1st class tickets to Cancun with a gutted roster. I have a feeling they go for AD instead to avoid having to giving up multiple starter.

Only way Giannis comes here is if he specifically demands the Knicks and that’s it.

I don’t see it happening, OKC & the Spurs got the assets, it’s over.

I mean I don't see any other pathway. Mikal leap especially defensively and McBride being a legit starter at the 2 guard...makes its a bit more palatable.

Giannis would have to be open to playing some 5 though because Mitch/Giannis just wouldn't work for long stretches.

You would have to run

Brunson
Deuce
Bridges
Hart
Giannis

for stretches.

for what its worth because you are sending out so much salary (KAT + OG) you probably can take on Kuzma/Portis as well which should help a little bit Kuzman can defend a bit and Portis is physical and can step out and hit a 3.

Tbh, its a super star league and id be "fine" with it. I love og's game but I love to win more. And a giannis/Brunson pairing puts us in serious contention.

To your point about roster construction I've been wondering if yabu was signed with the intention of playing him with giannis. Cause that signing is just confusing af with our current roster.

What if they offered Brunson and he went 5-20? He looked drunk out there.

With the way Brunson played last night, it wouldn't surprise me if he got word he might be in a trade.

The man was short-arming floaters that were barely touching the front rim and close to being airballs.

I just don't see how we could have the best offer for him without leaving the team with no way to improve

That's the mistake the Suns made with KD (really it was the Beal trade though), it was a fit issue as well as not having any way to flesh out the roster around their stars

I think Brunson/Giannis fits great, I just don't think we have enough to get him while still leaving us room to complete the roster around them.
BaF Lakers:

VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

am I the only one on here emotionally preparing himself for Jalen Brunson to get traded for Giannis? lol

I don't see how Jalen and Giannis would be that much better than Dame and Giannis

now, you give Giannis a team like KD has in Houston, with lengthy guys at every position, then you probably have a team that can legitimately beat anyone, including OKC in a 7 game series

people have a bias against KAT that they don't have against Jalen

Deuce, Mikal, OG, and Giannis would be so ridiculously good defensively, that there is little left for KAT to screw up

Offensively, the floor is way more spread with Deuce, Mikal, OG, and KAT surrounding Giannis than it would be with Jalen and Giannis

Towns and OG are 90 million. That isn’t the package.

This is the part some people are missing. SA and ATL probably have better packages but why would they trade the motherload and Giannis has no interest in signing long term. So gutting your team for a 1.5 year rental probably doesn't make sense.

That is why Giannis holds the cards. And MIL will have to make the best possible deal to send him to the team he wants to play for long term.

lol what

after last night, I'm emotionally ready for the Knicks to trade Jalen for Giannis

We would be in good hands if Mikal emerges as the new captain on the team

How so? All you are moving is KAT and Diawara. It's clear that Giannis wants NY, I'm watching all these takes on social about these huge packages that don't even work salary wise with multiple starters going out in this trade. None of those make sense, KAT and Giannis salaries are almost a complete match. Even if you involved a third team that has picks to send, the main cogs (Towns and Giannis) have the salary that fits.
