Derozan playing well, but Collins a true expiring. Feels like maybe a 2nd or two to LA? But most likely one of those classic “2nds to your favorite team” kind of deal.

Thank you.

Given that info, how Wack-A-Doodle is:

Kings in: Rui, Vandi, Gabe, Maxi and '31 LAL 1st (top 4 protected)
Kings out: DeRozen, Monk, Carter, Ellis and '27 CAR 2nd.

LAC in: DeRozen and '31 CAR 2nd.
LAC out: Collins

LAL in: Collins, Monk, Carter and Ellis.
LAL out: Rui, Vandi, Gabe, Maxi and LAL '31 1st (top 4 protected)

That’s rough for the lakers

ESPN's sources on Wall, Morant, and Young.

For a variety of reasons, from their maximum contracts to their major flaws, it's not a discussion that generates much enthusiasm despite their status as big names who have put up big numbers.

"I wouldn't want any of them," a Western Conference general manager told ESPN.

That was a popular opinion in an informal poll of executives, scouts and coaches conducted by ESPN. There wasn't a consensus about which one of the three would command the biggest return if they ended up getting shopped in the trade market, as votes were split among Ball, Morant and Young.

"They all might have negative value," an Eastern Conference executive said.

Another West general manager added: "When there are these sort of unwanted superstars, sometimes they end up getting traded for each other. I wouldn't be surprised if that happens in this case."

If it's between Paul and Bones I'd probably go Paul for Minnesota, but you have to think they're hunting for bigger game than that.

Randle for harden swap makes sense. Just need to find a third team for Randle

Honestly, I'm not sure this is too indifferent from when Towns and Randle were traded for each other. Sure they maybe didn't have negative value, but it wasn't exactly positive either.

It might not be possible, but I try to angle for Kawhi over James.

I have to believe that the Wizards and/or Nets would at least offer cap space at the deadline or next summer.

Utah might too. That's what I'm afraid of.

Looks like the end of the road for the Bucks and Giannis. A split is inevitable here

Is it not infinitely more difficult pulling off a Giannis trade during the season as opposed to after it?

Feels like maybe an AD in NO situation where it will drag out until the summer.

It's more difficult, sure, with the smaller roster limits and so many hard capped teams, to make something work financially now.

I do expect these discussions don't end happily, but that this deadline lays the groundwork for a trade this offseason? But, there could also just be something that works. Milwaukee having flexibility with tax/apron space makes it possible. :dontknow:

Better for teams to make deals once draft order finalized. Will Giannis let it go that far at 31? Idk bucks would had at least make a trade this season

Who is our third team dumping ground in a Giannis deal? Used to be something I’d shoehorn OKC into.

So imo this is CP getting on Harden and Kawhi but Harden in particular to play better/harder and Harden bristling as he did with the Rockets. But they don’t want to name names. Did him pretty dirty though. Sure there will be more info/spin.

Brooklyn is the easiest, but Utah also has a large trade exception. One of the two.

What about the Kings?

2026 SAC 1st, 2028 SAC 1st, 2030 SAC 1st, 2031 pick swap, 2032 SAC 1st, Zach LaVine, Nique Clifford, Keon Ellis
for
Giannis

Sacramento gets an MVP candidate. Milwaukee watches Giannis go to the worst fitting team in NBA history and probably ends up with a good lottery pick in 2026. Sacramento resets the supporting cast in the offseason when everyone expires.
