Yea, but a workaround would be pretty easy to find. There'd need to be more salaries involved but LAC has several middling salaries (Derrick Jones Jr, Bogdan Bogdanovic and also really small salaries like CP3 and Kobe Brown) and so some money somewhere goes to a 3rd team but it'd be pretty easily workable, especially if the trade expands to Simons + Hauser for Zubac + Bogie with CP3 going to a 3rd team,... something like this

Spotrac says that Clippers are 1st Apron, Hard Capped.

Can anyone make this work?

OK. Sounds like a mind-bender.

Let see if Brad does it.

Yea, or I think we could keep Sam and trade Simons for Zubac with LAC sending Derrick Jones Jr to a 3rd team, there would be several possibilities... but, lol, I am not a believer this will happen for the reasons we've talked about (LAC doesnt have their picks, etc)

It has to be a 3-team trade or multi-team trade.

Cs and Clips both 1st apron teams.
It's very hard to make salaries match if it's just Clips and Cs doing a trade.

I'm just playing around. But . . .
Brook Lopez is only guaranteed for this year.:

Detroit taking Brook or DJJ works quite well, and seems feasible.

But.... like Red said, they're not taking Simons, 2026 pick and 2031 pick. We'd need to add a guy that hurts. 2026 & _________

Hauser and maybe add a 2nd?
Take Zubac & Lopez (don't pick up his 2nd yr.).

Who goes is the only hint I'll give to what it might take. It's a riddle that is both question and answer.

Zubac is awesome and I'd definitely see what the price tag is. But I am also fine, possibly more so, with rolling with Queta and augmenting the backup bigs situation instead and keeping all our draft assets.

Even bringing back Rob Williams is fine.
It's a low risk move.

Queta continues to be the starter and Rob Williams is the guy you play in crunch time.

Yeah I don't see Brad trading all of those assets (it will cost a lot to trade for Zubac) for a non-shooting big..especially with how well Queta has been playing this season and how well the team has been playing lately - without Zubac and without Tatum.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

This is interesting because Zubac is a later bloomer. So where Simmons peaked much earlier, and Brogdon is done, Zubac has gotten stronger over time and he may not have peaked. Jaylen Brown would be #1 overall and Zubac around #5.

White, Tatum, Brown, Zubac, Walsh/Hugo

That’s a championship level starting 5 right there.

Once you get over emotion and exclude guys that we wouldn't have on the table in a Zubac trade (Tatum, Brown, White, Pritchard) then there's no one left that should actually hurt more to give up than a 2031 pick. I get that we all love our spunky role players, but no one on this team outside of the 4 guys I listed there are worth anything even close to our 2031 1st.

Garza, Boucher, Simons, 2027 and 2031 1st for Zubac and Bogdanovic.

Done. Trade happens on Dec 15th

Edit: Honestly, I wouldn't do this deal because I don't believe centers are important in this NBA. Need to spend your money on more important positions. You can get 2-3 bargin centers (not named Garza) and win a championship in my opinion.

Sorry but these ideas are killing me. Boston giving up 2 first rd picks to pay for a center who makes 18 million. Instead we could have Drafted Kalk with only 1 2nd rd pick and paid him two million to be Queta's backup.

Queta at this time keeps staying underrated on here despite out playing most of the centers so far. Including the player, we want to give up so many valuable assets for. Smh.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..
