For Kyrie, I think we are too far north, and he would fall off the flat earth if he came to Minnesota.

Here's a different question, if we do trade for a starting point guard, does Donte have to be included? I thought I remembered reading he did not want to come off the bench. He's playing well as far as a starter goes, he's just not what we need in the starting lineup. So would you say, any move for a starter would likely need DD included or moved in a separate trade?

How many fights per game will Isaiah Stewart average in MIN?

If it brings that mentality/grit to the team, as many as he wants

Healthy Irving is probably the best PG next to Edwards in terms of skillet. Moreover, Edwards-Irving backcourt might be able to elevate the whole roster.

Ja, LaMelo and Trae: What's next for three All-Star guards in limbo

"I wouldn't want any of them," a Western Conference general manager told ESPN.

That was a popular opinion in an informal poll of executives, scouts and coaches conducted by ESPN. There wasn't a consensus about which one of the three would command the biggest return if they ended up getting shopped in the trade market, as votes were split among Ball, Morant and Young.

"They all might have negative value," an Eastern Conference executive said.

Another West general manager added: "When there are these sort of unwanted superstars, sometimes they end up getting traded for each other. I wouldn't be surprised if that happens in this case."

Young:

In other words, the Hawks with Young in the lineup would rank dead last in the league in defensive efficiency. Without him, the Hawks have defended at a top-five level.

"He's just small and doesn't play any defense," an East scout said.

Morant:

"The combination of pain in the ass, injury prone, not that good anymore and big contract is a bad one," said an East executive, who added that he wouldn't want Morant on his roster regardless of salary.

"Has Ja already lost his pop?" a West scout asked. "When is the last time he put his chin above the rim?"

Ball:

"Nobody has ever questioned the talent," a West executive said. "But he's just so unserious."

One West scout said he considered the 6-foot-7 Ball, who has career averages of 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 7.5 assists, to be the most talented of this trio of point guards. Yet that scout said he would rank Ball last on the list because his bad habits seemed to be so deeply ingrained.

Coaches, scouts and executives often roll their eyes when discussing Ball's tendency to launch long 3-pointers off one foot early in the shot clock. Ball's bad shot selection is a significant factor in his career-worst percentages (37.9% from the floor, 28.1% on 3s) this season.

"He's definitely one of the top three most talented guards in the league," a West executive said. "But every [scouting] report I write on him has the word 'Globetrotter' in it."

I know a few people like the idea of going after Coby (gross), and any thought of Giddey are way in the rearview mirror.

But what about Ayo Dosunmu?

Not a traditional PG, but its a position he's played a fair amount in college and the Pros. He's definitely capable of being the guy opposite Ant. He's good at getting his teammates involved on offense.

Career 50/37/78 shooter. Good and active defender - 6'4 with a massive 6'10 wingspan.

He's going to be a FA after the year and it sounds like the Bulls would like to get something for him rather than letting him walk.

I actually think he fits the kind of PG that would fit in this system.

It will be interesting to see how Chicago handles the trade deadline. Do they go for a big trade? If so, that guard depth will likely deplete and a guy like Dosunmu might not be available. But if he is, I think he would be a capable low-cost option.

He's not in the article, but why would anyone want him?

He's tiny, often hurt, makes a ton of money and crumbles in the Playoffs.

I like Garland and watched many Cavs games. He is not available. Also he is not 100% yet this season. Part of the reason Cavs are struggling.

Another thing that has to be considered is why some of these teams would give up their starting point guard if they're competing? Again we would be looking at an overpay.

I hope none as any fights he gets into in Minnesota are likely to be against the Wolves whenever he comes to visit.

I feel dirty even thinking about a Giannis deal, but I do have one question:

Are any of their vet min signings useful in playoff basketball?

Gary Harris: A two-year deal, likely veteran minimum, adding perimeter defense and shooting.
Gary Trent Jr.: Returning on a two-year deal, providing significant three-point threat.
Taurean Prince: Re-signed to a two-year deal with the first year as a veteran minimum, continuing his strong shooting.
Kevin Porter Jr.: Signed to a two-year deal, providing more guard depth.
Amir Coffey: Signed to a minimum-type deal (Exhibit 10), offering wing potential.

As a note, Taurean Prince had neck surgery for a herniated disc in his neck and is out indefinitely.

For the other ones, they are worth consideration if Minnesota does a trade that consolidates talent! Jericho Sims also wouldn’t be a horrible pickup to fill a few center minutes.

KPJ is off to a ridiculous hot start since coming back from injury. Small sample size.

What about Tre Mann from the Hornets? I have seen scouting reports all over the place on him. Not sure if he is the future, but could at least be future backup PG. Much lower level trade than most, including myself, are hopeful for.

Need to use some combo of Dilly, TSJ, Miller, and even Conley to get another legit player off the bench.

Whoa, why we giving up TSJ?

Define legit player off the bench? Assuming you mean a backup PG?
