We're not watching the same guy are we?

lol ikr
He’s had issues with injuries but he’s also two years younger than coward.
His 3 point shot looks legit but inconsistent as is expected.
His defense looks good too. Just needs to get used to the NBA whistle. Things that come with experience. He’s a keeper.

I like what I'm seeing from Derik Queen a lot, but CMB's been absolutely fine.

Yeah weird take. CMB is a rotation player on a 15-7 team, that's pretty damn good for a rookie.

After a year of blatant tanking to try and get the best pick you can get, to come away with a good rotation player is still a little disappointing to me personally.....You guys can be happy with that but to me i would have hoped to get a player that has more potential....But you are right CMB to me has good rotation player upside for us because he will always be playing behind Barnes....Which is not too good for his development long term....

CMB is okay but in terms of upside overall im not seeing a potential all star or anything with him....Just a really good role player....But hope im wrong and he becomes something more....Just feel hes way too small for the position he plays for us and he needs to develop more wing type skills to be where we hope him to get at in the future.

For me personally i would have still liked Queen, Coward over CMB And i would much much rather of had that Pelicans 2026 pick + Jase Richardson.
I like CMB as a player just me personally there were better outcomes to the draft than what we ultimatly got....Which is a backup to Barnes.

I like CMB and think he has a fine career ahead of him, but when Barrett is back, I'd like CMB to get some time with that potent 905 team to work on skills and moves he isn't going to do much of right now, like shooting at various distances.

A future OG... Awful outcome.

Not an awful outcome....But who knows if he reaches even OG level....OG is one of the best corner 3 point shooters in the league along with pretty elite defense....If he is a worse OG that is not the best outcome....He has to develop his offensive game alot.

I said this right after the draft and look where that Pelicans pick is now its #1....There was a statement made the Pelicans called teams #9-13 and the Hawks were the ones to accept it....

Don't hate CMB but when you look at what we could of gotten on draft night...CMB a long time back up to Barnes here is not the best outcome for me personally....If i had my way we would have traded the pick for that Pelicans package and we would have that Pelicans pick + Jase Richardson right now which is 10x the value.

Thought Barnes was our driver, but apparently the team only goes as far as Gradey's output will take us.

Queen fell back to earth.

A elite 3-D player CMB has shown the potential to be is beyond what those players are. *Shrug*

People who can't understand players can put up numbers on bad teams without being great are just simply affordable. Simple but adorable.

Ideally yes. Problem is lack of Bigs on the roster. They have no one to replace him.

You guys obviously don’t realize he’s playing out of position as a 6’7 C. It’s crazy someone needs to point that out to you. We get a legit backup C and he starts playing his natural 4/3 position and you all will probably be very quiet.

i agree CMB has been mildly dissapointing, though that's probably due more to high expectations. C&S has been great in low volume but that will change once teams start guarding him out there. He needs to get better defensively. That was supposed to be the elite skill and so far I'm not seeing it.

He’s a 20 year old rookie big. How many of these guys are positive defensive impact players out of the gate?

The vast majority of rookies are negative impact players. Especially defensively.

CMB just looks totally forgettable out there. He probably is on a shorter leash since the team is trying to compete, and is trying to avoid errors. But really very little of more in recent games.

Think he might need some time with the 905

Spend years lamenting the trade of a mid FRP in 1000s of posts.

Then proclaim mid to late FRPs are useless when they play like......mid FRPs.

The whole tank phenomon exposed as just a gambling mentality obsession for the roulette wheel mystery box.

I remember when CMB got drafted I was telling people they brought him in to play the Center position. Alot of people were arguing with me saying well hes not a Center. Well yeah hes not. Now Toronto doesn't know what to do with him and can't find him minutes. Man its hard to be an undersized Center in the NBA our FO just didnt really consider that. You gotta be a real mean dude to want to be in those actions. You really wanna be dishing it out or else your gonna get clobbered every night. Right now it sems CMB doesn't really have that in him. Its all there for him to be one of those guys skills wise but man you gotta wanna get every rebound and make players feel you out there. Hes kinda a friendly respectful guy and he plays more like a forward.
