Mo Salah Claims Liverpool \'Threw Me Under the Bus,\' Questions Future

Mohamed Salah expressed deep frustration with Liverpool after being benched for a third consecutive Premier League match, stating he feels \"thrown under the bus\" and revealing his relationship with manager Arne Slot has completely broken down. The Egyptian forward made the comments following Saturday\'s 3-3 draw with Leeds United at Elland Road.

Salah, who signed a two-year contract extension worth over £400,000 per week in April, has started just one of Liverpool\'s last four league matches. The 33-year-old suggested someone within the club wants him to leave and acknowledged uncertainty about his future.

\"It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus,\" Salah told reporters. \"It is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame. I got a lot of promises in the summer, and so far, I am on the bench for three games, so I can\'t say they kept their promises.\"

The forward revealed he learned Friday that he would be dropped again, describing a dramatic shift in his relationship with the manager.

\"I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager, and all of a sudden, we don\'t have any relationship,\" Salah said. \"I don\'t know why, but it seems to me that someone doesn\'t want me in the club.\"

Salah hinted at a potential January departure before joining Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations. He plans to attend Liverpool\'s December 13 match against Brighton at Anfield, calling it a possible farewell to supporters.

The club\'s third-highest all-time goalscorer netted 34 goals and recorded 23 assists last season while leading Liverpool to the Premier League title. However, he has managed just five goals in 19 appearances this campaign.

When asked if he regretted signing his contract extension, Salah said the question itself was painful but insisted he would never regret joining Liverpool. He expressed confusion about why his situation has deteriorated so dramatically just months after winning multiple individual awards.
