I think for Dallas to get in as a WildCard the Lions game is pretty much a must-win. They are the main team that Dallas would compete with for that last WC spot. Have to win that game.

And if we do? My hopes are up. I think the addition Quinnen Williams and Overshown has made a noteable difference. I still our defense is "bad", but it is a step up from "god-awful"

Welp…

That’s that. Defense didn’t show up again and the offense was just too inconsistent.

In the end, that damn Carolina game will be what kept this team out of the playoffs.

Guess I shouldn’t forget about that Arizona debacle…

Bottom line - this team is not a playoff team.

I know we all have loved the last couple of weeks but this game just reminded everyone that this team still has major holes. The Lions attacked the weakest part of the team, the LB’s (and LT). The LB’s on this team are terrible. They can’t cover, can’t read and react, and can’t tackle. Overshown is NOT the savior. He’s an extremely athletic but low IQ player.

I would hope they completely rebuild the LB corps on this team in the off season.

Don’t forget Carolina, and letting 2 games slip away (Philly and Green Bay).

So, yeah as already stated, this is no playoff team.

BUT, I want to point out a postivie. I think we finally have what we wre hoping Mazi would be. Quinnen Williams is amazing. And Jahmyr Gibbs was held to just 43 rushing yards and 3.6 YPC. Gibbs IMO is the best RB in the NFL. And the Lions are the best offense in the NFL.

So, moneyball principals. Get quality "stats" at a cheap price. If we can just get a decent sack and pressure numbers for cheap, without givning someone like Parsons QB money, I think this thing could be turned around rather quickly. The defense I mean. I do think we also need to another CB opposite Bland. Bland is here to stay but Diggs needs to go unfortunately. I love him, but his injury has done him in I think.

Read on Twitter

from 30th overall vs the run to 1st

That is a dramatic change.

Now we just a secondary that can glue and some more pressure on the QB. But I think we finally have run-D taken care of.

There’s still technically a chance the Cowboys can win the division. Philly has to continue their fall though. Dallas also HAS to get to 10 wins. It likely but there is a chance.

More than likely though we have just been watching a preview of next season’s team. I expect GP will be back and I expect Kenny Clark to rework his contract.

When I comes to the draft I expect they will load up on LB’s and CB’s. If there is a chance to grab an elite LT at the top of the draft I would not be upset if they went that way.

It is rather entertaining to see Hurts go out there and throw 61345 interceptions.

5 turnovers with 0 TD’s correct? First QB to ever throw an interception and fumble on the same play.

Offense couldn’t finish drives and the Defense couldn’t stop them.

With that - we’re playing out the string.

Honestly it’s better that they don’t make the playoffs. The defense is still bad and the defensive coordinator still doesn’t know his players. Getting into the playoffs would only give Dak another playoff loss in his record.

Yep. And if you read the tea leaves or the Dallas Morning News, it sounds like the GM is awakening to the fact that the current DC is probably not a solution.

He definitely put him on notice yesterday in his interview. I liked how Jerry pointed out that every week we seem to have some mediocre QB having a career game against Eberflus’ defense.
