I re watched a couple of AJ's most recent games. AJ is better than Flagg. More athletic, bigger, better guard skills, better shooter, but what really annoys me about Dybantsa is that he has like zero interest in defense. With his natural ability, he could be Jimmy Butler or Kawahi on defense, but he chooses not to.

For me AJ is more Carmelo on both offense and defense. Big bag, super efficient scorer, tends to play bully ball and has a bad habit of getting tunnel vision and not passing at times. On defense, like i said, has no interest, bad motor, and just waiting for the other team to shoot so he can go back on offense.

One thing to keep in mind with some of the top prospects is that they are playing college ball because they have to, maybe not because they want to. I think their heart might not be in it all the time which will show up at times on defense.

I see AJ going 1 or 2. I can't see him falling to 3.

He's making +$5M...he has incentive to play.

Not much to say, really. High ceiling, high floor, but still moderately risky because of potential play style translation issues.

The elevation on his shot will obviously translate. He’ll need to get significantly stronger to use some of these moves on pro defenders. His handle needs a lot of work if he actually wants to dominate the ball as a point forward.

Guys with this much talent are very rare. Hard to pass on. They can bust, though. It’s like taking too many items at the cafeteria — your tray gets too full and you drop everything, if you know what I mean. It’s not easy trying to be TMac or LeBron.

guys are shooting 16% from the field on the season when defended by dybantsa. he's been absolutely dominant on defense. arguably the best power conference defender in college basketball.

guys are shooting 16% from the field on the season when defended by dybantsa. he's been absolutely dominant on defense. arguably the best power conference defender in college basketball.

Man this is a wild take. He's really bad. There was a play last night where a Clemson guard completely back doored AJ and luckily for him they threw it out of bounds. No awareness. He has the tools and hustle but his awareness is very poor. On ball, he can be very good. But off ball he's a mess.

He reminds me of the 2000-early 2010s small forwards like Rudy Gay and Richard Jefferson, but bigger, stronger, and I think he will be a better shooter.

Actually in some sense he's a bit Carmelo like. Not as skilled obviously but plays with a similar aggression to the basket that Melo had back then.

Highlights are also exactly that. In game he has some moments where he looks incredible, and others where he just throws himself at the rim with no plan. He will figure out how to use his tools more effectively, I am sure of that.

I sense a bit of nostalgia talking. Melo cant jump so finishing inside has always been a struggle for him. That showed up in his 2 pt percentage in the pros and even in college.

At the time i had a friend who went to Syracuse and dragged me to a sports bar to watch the game. One side of the bar was Syracuse the other Kansas. When i got home i found out someone had put a Kansas sticker on my back

It’s pretty clear he wants to be like a Melo or KD. He just doesn’t have all that skill. Probably more skilled than Wiggins at that age though. I’ll give him that.

Haven't seen enough of him, or the other guys yet but he is the early favorite for #1 on my big board. Elite physical tools, elite athleticism, skilled, productive- hard to see the red flags with him.

Boozer and Peterson both are good athletes but nothing special- that could be a factor for them being stars at the next level. Both should be very good, but I have some doubts they reach the ceiling that many had hopes for entering this draft class.
