Think they would have worked well together. Similar to Kyrie/Reaves but he plays defense.

I didn't really love my conventional second round options, so I decided to take a gamble on the phenom.

He only missed out on All NBA because he missed too much time, but he was a legit superstar in the 50 or so games he played.

I considered taking Klay Thompson and getting a big later on, but the whole elite point guard/elite shooter/roll man core formula just isn't resonating with voters these days.

McGrady/DRob is a great pairing. I like Paul/Howard as well and it's really cheap.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy
