At this point, I'm going to root against San Antonio for as long as they have Wemby and Harper. I hate the league and I hate San Antonio because of the way they lucked into Harper after already lucking into Wemby.

San Antonio got in the lottery 3 times in the last 3 seasons.
The first time, they moved UP from 3 to 1 to land the best prospect since Lebron
The second time, they moved UP from 5 to 4 and landed Castle
The third time, they moved UP from 8 to 2 to land Harper.
They were also in the late lottery in the 3 seasons prior to that, and never once did they move down.

Meanwhile, the Wizards have been in the lottery in 6 of the last 7 seasons.
2019: DOWN 3 to land Hachimura
2020: No movement. Landed Avdija
2022: No movement. Landed Davis
2023: No movement. Landed Bilal
2024: No movement. Landed Sarr
2025: DOWN 4 to land Johnson.
We have never moved up.

Never want to flip someone else's coin. Don't know what they've done to it....

I thought you were aware. The Wizards are cursed. The odds have been highly improbable. That or the lottery seems rigged.

Cooper Flagg to Dallas was ridiculous.

Wemby had a plus/minus of -18 - although still had an OK game IMO- some of the rotations looked off maybe because of drop coverage by Wemby- feels like the Knicks could generate open 3s whenever they wanted and shot the ball lights out (OG Anunoby, Clarkson, Kolek, Hart). Still felt like Harrison Barnes was the one who struggled the most even though he was +4- Spurs have a lot to gain by upgrading that spot.

I guess it is bound to happen that one team will benefit from lottery luck although slightly annoyed that it happened since they got Robinson/Duncan although then they created their own fortune for a while by drafting Parker, Manu, Leonard. There was actually a stretch that the Wizards may have been better at drafting than them.

Wizards did get some good lottery luck from 2010, 2012, and 2013. Feels like it implies when the Wizards win the lottery it is because they win it in a year where there is not a franchise stud. Although enough for Grunfeld to retain his job for a decent chunk of more time vs other front offices.

Other random thought is that Wall may have been a good pick in itself although I wonder the hypothetical door had they taken Cousins (or better yet Paul George). In 2011, maybe they favor Klay Thompson or Kemba Walker over Jan Vesley. (Would have been better if they had just taken Kawhi obviously). Although maybe the Wizards should have used a sports counseling because it seems like he figured it out in international competition against the US. And maybe the Wizards do not take Satoransky if they didn't have Vesley.

Another example of perhaps the Wizards being unlucky is just winning the 2013 lottery. While Otto Porter may have been a good pick among the some of the lottery picks like Noel, it does appear that some of the guys available just turned out better (Giannis, McCollum, Adams). Feels like the Wizards were a couple years early on taking the raw international athletic big.

Apparently Wemby lost family member prior to the game and was crying afterwards.

The search button isn’t working, so please step forward person(s) who liked Tyler Kolek in the 2024. This is running point, and getting your teammates good looks.

Pelicans have drafted pretty well. Yves Missi is pretty good. Fears is good. Trey Murphy is good. Queen might end up being pretty good. Zion lost some weight, maybe that'll help him stay a little healthier. Their record sucks tho.

This is ironic given that for the first several million years of basketball a charge would only be called if you came to a DEAD STOP and the offensive guy runs you over anyway. Then they changed it so basically you could twitch your shoulder into position and all of a sudden it's a charge.

Agree that if you are going to let people eurostep you can't let them drag their feet. That has to be a travel.

Just call me insufferable.

I first noticed Kolek at Marquette when a temmate of his was a higher rated prospect. It seemed to me Tyler K was definitely pro ready. However, after being drafted, Tyler Kolek didn't play much for the Knicks in the 2024-2025 season. He looked bad in this season's Summer League game that I caught on NBATV. I was beginning to think I missed on Kolek.

He's doing well now. To quote Nate Diaz (after he beat Conor McGregor), "I'm not surprised m...f..ers."

Annoyingly insufferable. :)

Tyler Kolek came back down to earth like the Hindenberg tonight. :)

Two games before tonight: 14/5/5 and 16/6/11. Tonight, 2/2/2 with 5 fouls and 4 turnovers. The Knicks lost to the Sixers. I didn't see the game, but I SUSPECT Maxey and Edgecombe were difficult covers for Kolek.

I wonder if Kolek will be another Jeremy Lin?

He’s the 3rd backup, I wish we could see AJ given an opportunity like this.

You gotta have at-least ONE of this type of player to have a chance when it matters, we still don’t have that player yet.

Dalton Knecht has been assigned to the G league. Can't play defense.

Lebron James almost 41 years old and still crushing it. Giving middle-aged men everywhere hope, or maybe envy, or maybe both.

He's older than Jordan was when he was with us, and Jordan looked older than dirt here.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot? Urinal cakes!
