RJ + Agbaji for Turner + distant future 2nds?

Turner / Poeltl
Barnes / CMB / Mamu
Ingram / Battle
IQ / Walter
Shead / Hepburn

I feel we get a lot better. IQ is a better SG than PG, we get needed POA defense and a similar degree of shooting and ball handling. Shead also attacks the paint at a decent rate.

The main selling point would be the additional shooting. We could play 5 out and remove any interior defense from getting in the way of Barnes or Ingram.

I love RJ but this is a trade we have to try out. It even makes CMB way more valuable and gives us a massive line up.

Poeltl
Turner
CMB
Ingram
Barnes

Transiton offense and defensive nightmare.

RJ for Turner works straight up financially. Add Agbaji and it blows up the deal. Turner is 29, so I could see the Bucks being willing to do this side deal and get a 4 year younger RJ, after they deal Giannis somewhere. It would also save us enough to get out of being a tax team.

But... What do we do with Poeltl? We don't need two starting level centers.

I'm at the point where I'd consider blowing up our roster a bit just to move on from (some or all of) IQ, Dick, Walter and Agbaji.

But moving those guys is going to be super difficult. You pretty much have to be packaging them for a former star player who is a bit over paid and pissing his team off in some way. Players like Zion, Trae or Ja come to mind.

I guess if we're replacing IQ, we'd need to be looking at Trae or Ja deals. So lets see what works in the trade machine.

Trae Young for IQ, Agbaji and Dick works. Add in whatever draft capital might be needed to satisfy both teams. Of course, we'd only do this deal if Trae agreed to an extension. I like Trae more then Ja, but it still doesn't solve our need for a back up center.

Ja Morant, Zach Edey, and Cam Spenser for IQ, Agbaji, Dick and Walter works. As above, add any necessary draft picks.

I kind of like the Ja trade just because I like Edey and Spenser. Both might never be more then backups at their positions, but that's really all we need, along with a more confident PG. Poeltl would be an excellent mentor for Edey as well.

OF COURSE, I'd rather go after Giannis, but that's just not going to happen. If we're making multi player trades, they'll have to be sideways moves, like the two mentioned above. Knowing the Raptors though, I'm only expecting a single player trade to allow them to solve the tax problem. We'll do something minor, make the playoffs but exit quickly, and get back on that treadmill.

Morant, Clarke and Edey for IQ and RJ works in the trade machine as well. Maybe Memphis would like this deal more? Solves a couple problems for us if Edey ever gets healthy again. Of course, Walter and Dick aren't able to give us what RJ does right now, so we'd still have issues. Just less of a log jam at SG. As before, add whatever draft capital would be necessary to make the deal work for both teams.

Of course, you could argue that RJ has the best stats on O, compared to Trae or Ja, or that IQ is better then both as well, as he's more efficient. Maybe these sideways moves would just cause even more problems for the team. Who knows. I'm glad I'm not in Bobby's shoes having to try to fix this team.

Poeltl and Shead could initiate a decent offense as rotation players coming off the bench. It would prevent droughts. The biggest thing is getting off Dick and Walter. I don't see it with them they are very bad NBA players.

Who's the "worst" player you'd trade Gradey for, in a 1 for 1.

Add picks either way, but Gradey and the other player are the main pieces

I don't know where you get the idea that Edey projects to be a back-up

Monk getting DNPs

Get him to play off the bench for us, hes basically Quickley.

Then trade Quickley for Lamelo/Trae

DNP Kawhi, Harden, Scotty and RJ for the rest of the season.

Id do a lamelo deal at this point. Team is committed to being a playoff team with Ingram Scottie and RJ and right now they are halfway in. Melo has his flaws but I’m down to buy low and bet on his offensive talent

LaMelo

For

Quickley
Grady
2026 1st
2031 1st

Follow up

To Dallas
Jakobe Walter
Ochai
Mogbo

To Toronto
Daniel Gafford

Poetl/gafford
Barnes/mamu
Ingram/cmb
Barrett/lawson
Ball/shead

Much more fun and higher ceiling if Ball can mature.

Finding a way to get Anthony Black and Goga from Orlando would be amazing.

Combo of Dick + Walter + filler for Black and Goga would be interesting. We get a legit backup 5 and we get a young guard with some scoring chops

Why does it feel like the team is asleep. Bobby has disappeared, Darko doesn't appear to have much passion. Most of the starters don't seem to care much on the court. Jak is in and out of the line up. Someone needs to light a fire up in Raptors land.

We'd have to send picks to Orlando for them to even remotely consider this. Two of our bad prospects for two of their good players isn't enticing.

For sure there's have to be a pick going their way. I looped that into the filler piece. I think they'd buy into the "idea" of them being good shooters. Also playing with better players would help them.

I'd much rather send prospect(s) and pick(s) for a trade like that then empty the cupboard for AD/Sabonis

Raps gotta do whatever they can to get off that IQ contract.

You probably won’t win anything with Ball but he’ll definitely sell tickets (when healthy).

Would y’all use Sandro as a sweetener to swap IQ for Garland?
