You’re not going to convince me that IQ, RJ, Ingram and Poeltl have been good defenders this year or that they deserve most of the credit for us being a great defensive team.

I'm just wondering who people think is a good defender? If you think Jak is average and Mamu is supposedly not a "real" back-up C, how are we the 4th best D in the league with below average defense at the C position which is supposedly the most important spot?

Look at the data lol. Our best defensive line ups haven’t been coming from our starting 5.

As for the reason why most rational people want traditional back up 7 footer? It’s not purely for defensive reasons lmao. It’s because we’ve had the worst OFFENCE in the league in the last 2 weeks. Our offence can’t function without legitimate screening from our bigs. 2nd chance points from offensive rebounding, etc.

Wanna know what’s crazy? Our ORTG this year has been better with Jak on the bench than on the floor.

Obviously the stat is incredibly noisy, but the issue is a hell of a lot more complicated than you’re making it out to be. Having Nick Richards doesn’t change that lol
