Re: PG: Wizards blow out slumping Raptors
Raptors have had the 4th easiest schedule and have the 4th hardest schedule remaining in the NBA.
We lost a bunch of games that we should have won if we were going to be a good team. Now we will slowly make our journey to join Atlanta/Chicago/Miami to fight for the play-in.

As a result of a horrible rebuild, we dont have enough talent on this roster that will propel us out of the Chicago/Miami/Atlanta group back into relevancy.
We gotta get lucky with another Ingram like trade for a major talent upgrade but that can easily bite us in the ass since that'll be an extremely flawed or injury prone player.

Like our young players have no skills they are good at lol
We also draft players that are supposed to be shooing specialists & they can't shoot either.....so there's that.
They gotta get rid of that NOAH shooting computer thing, it’s messing up players’ shooting form. The coaches gotta trust the player more than a computer.

Your 3 highest paid players put 0 pressure on the rim with a live dribble and nobody off your bench can shoot 3’s at a competent level. What can you do as a coach?
Who is he going to develop?
It isn’t his fault Gradey’s #1 skillset ended up being a weakness of his. It isn’t his fault Mogbo has 0 touch around the rim. It isn’t his fault Jakobe has 0 handles.
You can’t give a coach a roster with barely any talent and expect to make gems out of it. It starts with the FO. Not the coach or players.

Veterans win in this league. We have all youngsters on the bench and unfortunately they just aren't very good prospects.
With a proper backup 7 footer and 1 decent vet wing, they win this one easily.
When you have 90% or more of your salary for your starter, I dont understand how you can blame the bench, and how you are so certain that we are a backup big away.
Said it many times, the problem is our starters. Try look at the opposing team bench who makes the same, you will hesitate to exchange our bench players for them.

No, they don't. Washington would have had a good chance of beating every team in the league playing the way they did tonight.

Raptors love drafting flaw players and instead of taking advantage of the strengths from colleges, they try to develop and focus on their weaknesses and as a result sacrifice wins in the NBA.

That strategy paid off though. It got them a championship.

Can add a few more teams to that list. Magic, Sixers, Cavs. Almost at the halfway point and these teams are all hovering around .500.

Only >.500 teams the Raptors have beaten:
- Cavs (x3)
- Heat (x2)
- Sixers (x1)
None of those games were played with the opposing team at full strength. Fairly obvious fraudulent result so far.

Maybe you skipped over my post above talking about the strength of schedule. We have the 4th hardest remaining schedule to get back to the .500 range and fighting for a play-in spot.
Those teams you mentioned easily have more talent on their roster to jump us unless we make a big trade or some of our youngsters take a massive step that we arent seeing right now.

how good is your team if this is even remotely true. i think he brings a certain skillset(driving, rim pressure) that no one else on the team can replicate; i agree with you on that.

Its his job to work with them and develop them. The fact that a developmental coach has done 0 actual development with any of the above when thats the reason we hired him over better young coaches like Jordi, and when development of those guys is the avenue for us to be a better team with a higher ceiling, is a big problem.HumbleRen wrote:canada_dry wrote:He's a development coach that hasnt developed **** and he sucks as an in game coach on top of that. I have to again ask what has he provided for this franchise if he's neither developing nor is he a good in game coach? Vibes? Thats it?
Like... pick a struggle. To take from recent raptors history as an example, Casey was a good developmental coach/culture setter. He wasnt a good in game coach. Nurse was a good in game coach. Not a good developmental coach/culture setter. Darko is none of the above.

Yeah it's basically top 3 and then everyone else right now, don't really see the reason to freak out right now when it's been pretty clear that we need everyone healthy for this team to be decent which hasn't been the case with RJ out and Jak in and out while also not looking like himself when he does play.

So, what should our record be if we had a "legit" coach?

The 2nd Heat game, we were down two starters too.

I read it and it’s irrelevant. Sixers aren’t a talented team. They are an old team with very little depth who have just dropped two in a row to the Nets and Bulls. Magic are barely above .500 and have the same problem we have. At least we have our picks lol.
The East is terrible and what we see from the Raptors is what is happening to nearly all of the other East teams.
What did you expect from this team? Perhaps your expectations were far too high. I had this team winning maybe 40-45 games. They seem to be on track for that.

At this point you should take any C you can get. Get Hassan Whiteside from China. Sign him for the rest of the season because at this rate I highly doubt Poeltl will stay healthy. Anyyyyone
