Shead +34.

He was pretty loud in the 4th - big buckets down the stretch!
Alvin put it best: BI’s presence is a present.

I feel as confident in his middie as I did with Kawhi.

Scottie is like what 6'9 245 lbs? He can absolutely play small ball C ala Giannis and thrive in that position.

He’s been doing that the last 3 weeks. It looked horrible lol.

And that leads to the "Unemployed Centers Thread: Raptors opening", claiming Barnes needs a C to play with him.
As I said there, this is already designed for Barnes, either he plays C, or he needs 3 point shooting to play PF.

Not to mention the guy is still shooting 37% on ~7 3FGA/game on the season while sporting a 57 TS%. He has had some brutal nights over the past few weeks (namely against the Celtics), but he has been pretty solid overall. Some of the IQ hate is a bit over the top, as it always has been on this board when it comes to the play of PGs.

Can we at least be honest?

IQ was getting ripped because for 6 CONSECUTIVE GAMES from 3 shot:

0-4
3-9
0-4
1-7
3-10
1-8

8 for 42....19% from your best shooter. Nd he averaged 12 pts in these games. That deserves criticism.

No...They have Draymond Green and the corpse of Al Horford....They are in a very simular situation as us when it comes to big men...The one team in the league i feel confident we can out rebound and beat up on in the paint with their lack of rim protection would be the GSW.

Yeah for sure. I'd just be curious to see other good shooters and how stretches like this line up.

My guess is it's a fairly regular occurrence.

It’s a miracle they’re even .500 as a western conference team.

Missed the game but I just saw the box score. How the hell did Scottie grab 25 rebounds??! When I first looked I thought that was his point total, then I saw the pts column and it said 23. If you can grab 25 boards in a game then you can average 10 boards per game. Cat's outta the bag now Scott, go out there and grab those rebounds. Board man gets paid.

This.

He's not a point guard. He's an undersized 2. Those types are utilized best as 6th men/ bench scorers. Maybe they find a starting PG & he goes back to that role.

Just because he's not the ideal playmaking PG doesn't mean he is best utilized as a 6th man/bench scorer lol. He is perfectly fine as the PG in a lineup alongside Scottie, Ingram and RJ where all 4 of those guys are capable of creating their own offence and finding the open man to varying degrees.

GS is looking for a C too. They know they can use an upgrade.

The WHOLE point of the Raps having another "big C", is for roster balance...AND OPTIONS VS SPECIFIC TEAMS.

Some teams like GS you are not going to get killed on rebounds. But we have seen that vs others, we 100% will.

Options. Nice to have options. Oh, and to help cover injuries.

It is basically time for them to trade for AD or just give up. Likely they trade for AD because the only team that grasps at straws more than them are the Bucks.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Can YOU be honest? Two of those games were low-volume shooting nights (4 attempts against the Celtics and 4 attempts against the Bucks) and two were pretty average (3/9 against the Heat and 3/10 against the Nets) while the 1/7 and 1/8 games were rough.

It is absolutely wild to me that in 2025 we still have people losing their minds over a two-week stretch where a three-point shooter goes cold. It happens multiple times every single year to just about every single shooter in the league and it is always balanced out by a separate stretch where the guy shoots ~50% over 5ish games.

Just for the record, the Raps gave up 14! offensive rebounds this game and the teams combined for 32 offensive rebounds.

Oh for sure. They get hot. They go cold.

That's why it's funny when people complain about Barnes having bad shooting nights when he isn't a natural scorer in the least.

Oh, Curry's last 5 games...shooting 24% from 3!

When the best can go cold, of course others can too.

I'm not sure if it's mental or conditioning with him, but the inconsistent effort between games is maddening.

I personally think it's always been conditioning. This Barnes is All NBA and best in his class though.

Thats easy to say when he doesn't have a proper big man boxing him out and its a very undersized team.....You can't have Barnes playing Per Defense, Expect to score over 20, And also be the team rebounder with not much help with the lack of bigs....Most teams in the league are not built like the GSW and have multiple bigs that are equally as strong as Barnes is ....Don't expect to see him doing this against the Magic or Nuggets in the next 2 games...
