Better than nothing, this might actually elevate us more than expected. We need Yak back though, but the decision to go into the tax is worrisome. Its a likely indicator that Yak will be out for longer.

Trading Ochai for a 2nd rounder easily gets us out of the tax. We shouldn’t be worried about it.

I don't think any team is giving you pure capspace (and a 2nd) for Ochai. At best we're probably looking for deals where we swap Ochai for someone else and add incentive to clear 1-2M like the rumored Richards deal with the Suns

I feel like the more likely trade is something like to the Bucks for Taureen Price who makes 3 million less and is out for the season. They could then cut him and keep Bamba and sign a 15th man and still be under the tax.

Ochai still has some use on this team. He's our best POA defender. Not sure they dump him for nothing in return just to duck the tax.
