Good rebounder and shot blocker along with being a decent floor spacer and is 7 ft tall. If someone with those tools can't stick around, there's likely a good reason for that.

If Yak is seriously hurt..this signing hurts.

If this is the team just realizing a backup body is needed and that future moves probably have them in the tax no matter what (and assuming Yak is not in awful shape) then I'm happy with it

Better than nothing, this might actually elevate us more than expected. We need Yak back though, but the decision to go into the tax is worrisome. Its a likely indicator that Yak will be out for longer.

Trading Ochai for a 2nd rounder easily gets us out of the tax. We shouldn’t be worried about it.

I don't think any team is giving you pure capspace (and a 2nd) for Ochai. At best we're probably looking for deals where we swap Ochai for someone else and add incentive to clear 1-2M like the rumored Richards deal with the Suns

I feel like the more likely trade is something like to the Bucks for Taureen Price who makes 3 million less and is out for the season. They could then cut him and keep Bamba and sign a 15th man and still be under the tax.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I’m guessing this is an indication they’ve decided to shut Poeltl down until he is actually healthy (which is what they should have done to begin the season, they can’t proceed with him playing diminished like this).

We are probably screwed if we are counting on Mo Bamba to play consistent mins.

We are doomed anyway, might as well have Bamba with us than against us.

Ochai still has some use on this team. He's our best POA defender. Not sure they dump him for nothing in return just to duck the tax.

Also, Poeltl’s back must be cooked.

Same thoughts. Bamba has crazy potential but lacks the BBIQ to be effective.

With the Poeltl update tomorrow I'm feeling like he's going to be done for the year.

Poeltl is probably out for a very, very long time.

Otherwise they’d just keep signing Mo to a 10 day contract.
