Days of there being faintest hope of Mo Bambe being a contributing NBA C is long gone. Naturally, Raptors have signed him. Guess, they couldn't find takers for their garbage backup SG's while helping shed salary at the same time. This team should not be a tax team as-is.

We are probably screwed if we are counting on Mo Bamba to play consistent mins.

I would have rather brought Koloko back lol

maybe he still hates us for dumping him

Otherwise they’d just keep signing Mo to a 10 day contract.

it's a non guaranteed deal, essentially the same thing

I hope this turns out to be a Sandro type of signing

Mo has immense potential as a role player. He can space the floor and be a beast on the boards.

Hope he makes the most of this opportunity.

Damn I thought I was being negative on the Jakob news tomorrow, but y’all really think he’s done for the season? I don’t know about all that. He’s been with the team the whole time and celebrates on the bench. I don’t think it’s season ending bad just yet. I think they let him rest for a month or two straight and see what that does. If he’s still going through it after that THEN they may shut him down for the season

I feel like the more likely trade is something like to the Bucks for Taureen Price who makes 3 million less and is out for the season. They could then cut him and keep Bamba and sign a 15th man and still be under the tax.

Ochai still has some use on this team. He's our best POA defender. Not sure they dump him for nothing in return just to duck the tax.

Well it wouldn’t be for nothing because they would be able to keep Bamba if he played well and sign someone like Martin to a full contract(he has been very good for the 905. They could also sign someone to the open two way spot Martin would leave behind. So though it would be to dump salary for ‘nothing’ there are additional benefits
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

If this is the team just realizing a backup body is needed and that future moves probably have them in the tax no matter what (and assuming Yak is not in awful shape) then I'm happy with it

What?

It hurts because this would be the best deal the team can find if it's to replace Yak long term.

If it's just coverage for short term..all good. If it's insurance as another big when Yaks healthy it's good..

If it's a Yak replacement...no this hurts .badly.

Back injuries are tough. Like I stated earlier, you need to give him extended rest to recover. This is a sign that Poeltl will be out 2+ weeks, maybe a lot more. Who knows, they don't provide much info to the fans these days.

Bamba is kind of a low BBIQ, low effort guy.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Dude's had plenty of opportunities for years. If it was going to happen for him, it would have already IMO.

If Mo Bamba is more important for us than Ochai, I would be pretty shocked.

WOW! They actually did it!

This is all we've been asking for. Nice work Bobby.

All this talk about giving away Ochai to duck the tax but Mogbo is the useless scrub on the team imo.

Cant we just trade him to a rebuilding team like the Wizards or ask the Pacers to do us a favour like we did for them when we took on James Wiseman?

the hope is that he goes all out for 10 mins a night. more if he's playing well, less if he's not.

he's a long center that can stretch and block shots when he's engaged. it's been a while since we had a rim protector so even if it's for 5-10 mins a night, it's someone we can funnel player's to and maybe get a bit more aggressive on the perimeter.

not expecting much but we needed a big body and he's one.

Hoping for the best....

Sherman Hamilton last pre-game made the comment that Yak was going to be out awhile. Sounded like he knew an announcement would be made.

That's just dumb to punt a 31st pick like that. The plan was probably to dump Temple this way if necessary. They got him to waive his NTC that he was entitled to before signing his deal.

Bamba is still better than not having an actual 5. If Poeltl is completely cooked then can they buy him out?

Wouldn't be shocked to see him do well with this opportunity at least initially, his career is on the line so motivation has to be an ATH.
