Since his 2nd season, Scottie has been so inconsistent with his effort. I don't get it. He's more talented than 95% of Raptors in franchise history, but probably in the bottom 50% for consistent effort. Infuriating.

If Scottie played with Josh Hart's motor, that alone would be good enough to make him an All-NBA player.

Just need him to show up to play in at least 80% of the games

Jish Hart's motor and Demar Derozan's off season work ethic and training.

He definitely reads this board, he was like you know what I should just play like Josh Hart.

He should read it more regularly if it'll make him play like that. It was the single best game of his career, basically. He's had better scoring performances, but damn, man. What a game.

Two plays in the Warriors game showing the ideal positioning for Barnes in the offense. Elbow/Nail high. Action being ran off-ball with him holding.

2nd Q: the action runs, Draymond sagging into the paint. No options behind the line after action, Barnes with a dribble to the nail, no look to RJ cutting.

OT: Barnes above the nail holding, Q Post bodying him. Off-ball action above the line. Barnes fakes the pass, drives for the layup.

Mainly these actions could be improved if we ran a DHO offense instead of screen/dribble. This would benefit both IQ and Barnes. One of the best plays Barnes made was the give and go in transition where he got the ball back in the paint and kicked it back out for an open 3. Let the motion move the defense. Of course we have to pray that Jak gets traded so that any of this is consistently possible.

Barnes was asked if he enjoys playing center: "It is what it is. Do I love having Jak out there? I do love having Jak out there. CMB's been doing a great job stepping in as well... I love having those 5 men out there. I have a great connection with them"

Getting a good center should be a priority. It directly protects Barnes and Ingram. It is essentially insurance and helps us play bigger.

I think the best trade would be for Markannen. I would do IQ and RJ or Poeltl along with picks.

Poeltl / CMB
Markkanen / Mamu
Barnes / Battle
Ingram / Walter
Shead / Collier

I feel like that would be a favorite in the East by far. Size and shooting are the best skills to have in the NBA.

Barnes would excel with a player like Lauri he could switch between the perimeter and post with him, run pick and rolls where he's the handler or with Shead where he's the roller.

This gives the offense another dimension and shores up the paint protection.

Except we all know Ainge is going to want way to much, as usual.

They're in a pinch. They're in that sweet spot of not losing enough. Lauri is a player they needed to get off of for a long time now.

That I agree with. But Angie won't do a deal for a top guy unless he feels he is ripping the other GM off.

So instead he will deal away depth on guys who have lost value vs their draft position because they want to give playing time to the "next" young pick

They don't own their own pick this year. They're right on that edge zone where we were when we owed the pick to the Spurs. They could either choose to compete or tank harder.

Tanking luck hasn't been on their side at all. They might decide to forgo it. I think the ideal trade would probably be IQ, RJ for Lauri, but IQ/RJ go to different teams who bring back some form of picks and expiring contracts to the Jazz. Lauri's value isnt insane either, he's never played more than 65 games in a season.
