Re: OT: Giannis / Bucks Trade Coming?
Not sure why people crapping on Giannis. There is probably two parts to his thoughts. Yes Bucks are toast and they probably won’t win. The otherside is personal. He has lived in Milwaukee for 12 years and it’s home for him.
Think if you grew up in Toronto and now you have a job opportunity in Chicago or Dallas but pay you the same. The job is more interesting and exciting. I bet you 9/10 people on this forum probably stay put. You got friends, family, familiarity with your surroundings, kids situation. This is why Dame ended up going back to Portland for the same reason. The personal side is arguably more important for many than the personal side.

But...it's Milwaukee.
I mean...I get it...the Bucks organization is the only team in the world willing to sign Thanasis and Alex to actual professional basketball contracts which is bat **** crazy...but aside from that nepotism...it's still Milwaukee.
Here's a thought......if the Raptors were to obtain all 3 Greek Freak brothers...then get Thanasis and Alex sign him to giant contracts...is that salary cap circumvention? We all know that Thanasis and Alex have no business making NBA type money in any circumstance so paying them anything at all should be considered cap circumvention. It's like Kawhi Leonard except that the money is being exchanged via legal NBA contracts. But still cap circumvention.

They don’t have pieces with good value other than Giannis.

They may well be calling the Lakers about Lebron while they are at it. The only way a deal with Portis and Kuzma being the main guys going...is if there is a juicy draft pick attached and I don't see that happening.

He gone. Atlanta is ripe for a move if he signs off on going there. They are in a free fall with no hope on the horizon.
They can dangle that juicy pick, Risacher (who is turning out to be nothing special), and a bunch of other picks. Likely means taking Young back, which the Bucks likely don't want, but they can flip him next year if he picks up that PO, which is looking probable at this point. If they can somehow include Turner and/or Kuzma, they can also get out of some future money.
Q. Do you want to be here if you guys are not able to…
Giannis Antetokounmpo: I'm here. I’m here. I'm here. Don't ask me that question. I'm here. It's disrespectful towards myself and my teammate. I wear that jersey every single day. Disrespectful towards the organization, my coaching staff, myself, and all the people that work hard for me to come out here and say, ‘I don't want to be here.’ Don't ask me that question. I'm here. I'm putting on the jersey. And as long as I'm here, I'm going to give everything I have even in the last second of the game."

Not a chance we trade for a Porter Jr

Re: OT: Giannis / Bucks Trade Coming?
i think if Giannis is available Raps still go for him, but getting Giannis means a few other trades necessary to rebalance the roster. In some ways starting Battle might not be a bad move.
If we can do RJ, Jak, Dick, Mogbo, Ochai and 3 firsts for Giannis I would be down. I would be okay if we swapped RJ with IQ instead, but we would need to be able to find another solid PG or rental for a year. Maybe Coby White. But this pretty much pushes all the chips all in for the next 5 years.

I understand what you say but its not cap circumventing since it still counts against the cap. I mean Lakers paid Bronny too right. It's rather unethical but does not violate the rules.

I think it is fine. To a lesser extent thats kind of how the Mogbo pick happened him being Scottie's boy!
Over-all I still prefer Sabonis as he is younger and his game has never been on athleticism. Giannis is going to cost a decent amount of picks, versus we can make more upgrades is we keep a bit more of the war chest.

Ya I don't think we'll get Giannis. Personally I am not sure Sabonis will put us over the top either, but depending on asking price and what salaries are matching I'd give it a try

Seeing this idea being floated around:
I'd do this in a heartbeat. (RJ + Poeltl + CMB + Walter + 2 first round picks + 1 swap)
Quickley
Ingram
Barnes
Giannis
Mamu
Bench: Shead, Dick, Lawson, Bamba, Ochai, Martin

That would of course be amazing but I doubt Milwaukee/Giannis do it. I feel like they could get a better package. The upgrade from RJ to Giannis would be incredible

OKC could offer Chet and Williams. That would take the cake by far and basically guarantee them a championship.

That’s a bad trade for OKC.
Either (Chet OR Williams) + FRP(s) should be enough.
