That game would be physical as hell lmao. I don't think Suggs and Poeltl would survive a 7 game series of that lmao.

Wagner has been their best player while Suggs is their engine like mini Lowry. Magic would clearly be favored against us in a series if the rosters stay intact.

clearly how, we have a 19ppg missing SG and our starting C. We've been the better team this entire szn so far, definitely a toss up & I like my Raps

Was at the game tonight, CMB is such a monster on the glass. His athleticism on defence is much more noticeable up close. CMB and Barnes playing together is always a net positive lineup

Their missing pieces are MUCH better than our missing pieces. They also made an "all in" move, which is a big reason why theyre better right now. We shouldn't be insecure to admit other teams are better than us currently lol

Yeah if we rewatch we'd see a player keeping the offense afloat through a terrible first half. Love when people say "watch the game" and then only use a box score stat to support your case.

He came in with 5 minutes in the first. And he scored all 12 points Raptors points had until Jakobe scored with 9 left minutes in the 2nd. He is not great defensively but he was not the cause of all the defensive breakdowns. Throw in a steal and offensive rebound because he was active as usual, and he had a great game.

No, I said watch the game because it fell apart as soon as he came in. The box score just corroborates what happened. Some people see scoring and think it means everything but there’s more to the game. Maybe there’s a reason only he was scoring? Maybe Orlando didn’t see him as a threat and focused elsewhere? Maybe he wasn’t getting through screens or boxing out effectively?

Again, watch the game.

Nah. You gotta go back and watch that stretch lol. Gradey has been pretty terrible lately, but he was very good tonight and the run that the Magic went on late 1st/early 2nd had absolutely nothing to do with Gradey. Just look at the FGM in that stretch.

16-11: miscommunication between Ingram and CMB up top on a slip screen; Gradey helps from the corner and contests but Black’s layup is good

20-13: Bane hits a ridiculous fadeaway jumper on the baseline over Shead’s contest and the ball goes in from behind the backboard

25-16: literally everyone BUT Gradey fails to collect a rebound off a missed free throw and it’s put back in

27-18: again, three Raptors fail to collect a defensive rebound and Bitadze puts it back in

31-18: Bane blows by Scottie 1-on-1 for a layup

33-20: WCJ hits a midrange jumper over Bamba

35-23: multiple Raptors fail to grab a board underneath, Gradey falls asleep while watching the continued struggle to reel in a loose ball then Bane cuts in for a floater

37-25: Paolo finishes in semi-transition over Bamba

42-25: Shead goes for a homerun play and misses the steal, forcing Gradey to close out on Black who then swings the ball to an open Richardson in the corner

45-25: after some good ball movement, Paolo hits a corner three over a half-asleep Bamba

47-28: Paolo gets inside position then receives an entry pass and finishes inside over CMB

50-30: Black goes ISO against Ingram then hits a step-back three

Raptors were outscored 39-26 in Gradey’s first stint. Gradey scored 15 points — and chipped in a steal and offensive rebound — while the rest of the team struggled mightily to score. Of the 39 points Orlando scored in that stretch, you could maybe place the blame on Gradey for 4 (a loose ball foul at the end of Q1 that led to 2 points at the line and MAYBE the 2 points Bane got after multiple Magic OREB on one possession) but that’s it.

In terms of impact on their team it's not much different. Suggs isn't something they are really missing with Black. Same goes with Paulo and Wagner. They are overlapping for them. For us we don't have anyone who applies rim pressure like RJ and rim protection like Poeltl.

Bamba, CMB, Barnes, Ingram, and Shead would be good to see on the floor together.

Think you got Suggs messed up lol, dude is a top 5 defender at his position, their win rate is
high with him playing vs without him. BPM is 4.4, he's a stud. Just can't stay healthy lol, plays too hard.

Naw see that's the point, when the team is struggling due to injuries I don't get stressed like 80% of this boatd.

I can't really say we would beat any team in the first round in the east besides the Heat (We have their number)....Us and Magic do matchup well overall but i think if they get a healthy Franz/Suggs they prolly beat us pretty easily because they have a deeper roster overall...

Pistons beat us
Knicks beat us
Celtics beat us
Cavs beat us (If healthy big if)
Magic 70% chance they beat us
76ers i give us a 65% chance to win if Embiid is out...

Going to be tough for us to make it out the first round unless we make a trade, or teams are not healthy come playoff time....Not really confident or think we have any real good matchups besides the Heat....Like the last wins though at least we showed heart...

It may not work against other teams but Scottie, Cmb, Jakobe, Shead is a lineup of our 4 best defenders and they absolutely locked up the Magic for 5 straight minutes

I gotta give a shout out to Anthony Black man. He looked smooth. I was a big fan of him in his draft year and it looks like he's putting it all together now.

I think so too. He does have some weird habits defensively though. He has been in the league for a while, but hasn't figured out how to stay vertical on contests & just be big out there. He's a vet at this point. He is, 7'1" & has one of the longest wingspans in NBA history. All he has to do is look big.

He looks like one of those players who tries to block shots, rather than use his length to simply be disruptive & alter shots. It's more important than blocks.

Hopefully they can work with him & impriove some habits.

Yeah, I can't believe he hasn't been taught some basics or maybe it hasn't stuck with him yet like keeping his hands up to contest a jumpshot or anticipating it, It would make a difference. Regardless, his presence out there is much needed.

Like I said I watched the whole game. While all you have is "maybe this" and "maybe that". Trying to downplay a players achievements is the true sign of a hater!

Yup, he says watch the game but then can't point out anything he actually saw Gradey doing wrong. Just a bunch of hypothetical.

The rest of the team shot 0 for 9 in that stretch but plus/minus is proof Gradey is a liability (im sure he will ignore Gradeys insanely positive plus/minus on the season)

Yeah its crazy to see how negative this board still can be. Even if we were fully healthy 20-14 would have been the most optimistic prediction we would see on this board in the pre season

Yes but their missing pieces do not fit well with Banchero, that's been pretty clear for a few years now. It seems like the Magic are the type of team that is less than the sum of their parts. Just my 2 cents.

Won while shooting 39% and 24% from deep. I'll take it.

Return to Toronto Raptors
