Wow, the Hawks would include 10/3/1 Zaccharie Risacher? I’m sure the whole league will be calling them now. lol.

I don’t think you can win with Trae and he will be making a lot of money.

he would likely opt into his large player option. If we did trade for him, expect an extension announcement like we did with Ingram.

Let him opt in. If he earns an extension at a lower rate, then so be it. If he walks then we’ve cleared a bunch of salary. It would be great if we could get Risacher with him. The upside alone might be worth it.

The nba has changed how the game is officiated over the last few seasons. The style of defensive play has become more physical in recent years, they are letting more contact go outside shooting attempts. Given his smaller stature, that is my opinion as to Trae’s production decline.

Trade for both Trae and AD. I want neither. But that's the deal you'd have to make. Basically gut the team for Trae/Scottie/BI/AD.

Neither guy fits individually, but in theory, Trae and AD fit well with Scottie/BI.

A lot of Trae Young's value comes from his ability to get to the free throw line. I would be very concerned about how this would go if he tried his foul baiting antics as a Raptor.

Trae is a much better scorer than IQ. He'd be the best scorer on this entire team.

Having said that, the lack of defense is a problem.

Interesting take. You may very well be right. It does make me wonder why that hasn't really affected guys like Brunson or Ewards, though. Those guys are slightly bigger and more physical than Trea, so maybe not a great comparison.

I hope they blow that load on Davis or Sabonis.

Trae is like a more dynamic offensive version of Quickley but with crappier defense and a horrendous contract.

Trae measured 6’1.75” in shoes at combine. Interesting his combine weight was 176 and his official nba weight today is 164. Going off a weight of 165….

Brunson has 25 pounds
Edwards has 2 inches and 60 pounds

I think they can better absorb the contact. That’s just my theory. I don’t follow Hawks enough to know for sure, but I do think it is relevant.

Combine injuries and wanting out after no contract extension offered this summer and it’s probably a more complete picture.

His stats really have dropped off this season.

Trae's offense is a lot better than IQs defense between the two. Problem is that we'd have to include RJ in the trade contractually and not sure any trade between the teams actually makes us better overall.

Trae and Risacher for IQ and RJ works. Not sure I would do it but it is a little enticing to get out of IQ money and get a young cheap prospect. It would really clear up our cap in years to come.

Trade for LaMelo maybe. Trae? no.

How would posters feel about a IQ trade for Dejounte Murray - Murray is older but I think the better PG and I think his defense is better, contract is 2 years plus a player option vs 4 years for IQ, saves the Raptors about 1.7m this year - of course Murray is coming back from a major injury so that's a risk. New Orleans might like the younger player with upside.

The only aspect of scoring that he is superior at vs IQ is drawing fouls and getting to the line.

we would have to resign Trae, if you don't wanna resign Trae, then you are capped out with no alternatives to a starting PG, unless you wanna go deeper into your player/prospect capital.

This whole, we have to get off of IQs money is none sense, nor is it too difficult to trade a 32mill player, that's two MLE players...

It's not really horrendous when he only has a player option for next season.

IQ, Ochai, Gradey for Trae works. I would not even consider adding draft capital other than a SRP or 2.
