Koloko looked good in his last game for the Grizz. He is getting a lot of stocks. In the last two games his totals look pretty good:

53 mins, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks, 4 steals, 8 points

I doubt Bamba out performs that.

he really dwarfs anyone else on our team. And he isn't as skinny as he used to be. Hard to really tell much from his short stint in that game. Curious to see if we'll try to use his spacing ability to give us a different look

I really wonder if some of Bamba struggles have been due to his makeup. He's apparently a super smart dude, getting a very high score on the ACT in the stage which is used for college prep. This seems counter to him being reported as having low BBIQ. Sometimes people who are more intellectual have a harder time grounding and having awareness if they haven't put in the work.

It's only a hunch but I think if they had him working on some mindfulness/CBT. I think it would go a long way for him being more present and aware in game.

I'm a fan of his on this team neway, hope he sticks. He's better than Nick Richards, not sure if he's better than Dayton Sharpe, but he might be available either.
He blocked a shot and say a tip out rebound he got us last night. Hopefully he gets more burn against the Nuggs

He really deterred players at the rim. Usually people just go at Poeltl.

I doubt Bamba has a better stretch than Koloko did over those two games where he got 8 stocks. Bamba is still likely the better basketball player. Do you guys need me to be your reading buddy or what?

Do you understand that a player can have a great stretch while being lesser than another player?

With Jokic out, JV will get a lot more mins. If there's a game where he's going to be even semi useful, this upcoming one is it.

8 stocks but only 8 points.

Bamba for his career is a 3.5stock/36 minutes guy. Koloko is a 3.3stock/36 guy.

But like, what’s your point even? You can go back to Bambi’s game log when he was in Orlando. He has multiple 53 minute stretches where he has 8 stocks.

But wtf even if this argument? Stocks without context mean nothing. Blocks especially have very little correlation to being a good player. That’s why Koloko and Bamba are both on the edge of not being in the league lol

Man this boards ability to assess players is completely freaking ass

Bama got destroyed in his 4 minutes. A -9, didn’t grab a single board, and got destroyed down low by guys smaller than him.

Posters just get a hate on for certain players and aren’t rational with what they watch. No different than IQ/Shead we’re seeing in different threads.

Multiple drives against him had to kick it out or had tough shots. I’m not saying he’s Wemby, it’s just nice to have somebody who can give the team a different look.

It was never really a low iq thing imo, it was a low motor thing.

i only remember one play someone got him down in the post down low, we could finally see bamba post defense...he has his long arm arms and right away he wraps his arms around his defender for some reason and bear hugs him committing an obvious foul before we could see him defend lol only thing he had to do was keep his long ass arms up

Blocks do matter it shows up on scouting reports. That deters rim pressure. Generally players that know they will be met at the rim won't even attempt it.

The point is that Koloko is having a good stretch. Bamba won't get as many minutes for us and likely won't have the same stretch. Koloko is also younger and could have improved since he was last with us.

From what I'm seeing Koloko could be a slightly better player than Bamba on defense, but we likely went with Bamba since he has some shooting ability.
