Mr Fitzhume wrote:It’s just 1 of 82 games, injuries, bad luck, officiating, yadayada. There’s always an excuse, but we have to admit, that it’s a flawed roster with a bench that rarely shows some signs of life, a “pound the rock”-like coach, and no real upside - which is a concern for the upcoming years.

Which sounds very similar to the themes surrounding the 2014-2018 Raptors.

But I absolutely agree with you.

Bobby needs to make some roster changes, but at some point he also needs to look at the types of players they bring in. They need springy lob threats at C (poor Missi rotting away in NO) and guards/wings who can consistently MAKE 3s in games.

Still can’t believe we lost a game to a team with 4 missing starters that started JV in 2025.

Might fr be the worst L I’ve seen in the last 2 years lol.

20-15 and 4th in the East - not that bad

Shouldn't be focused on the record because that does not tell the whole story all the time...Or where the level a team is at and their actual upside at being successfull when it matters against actual good teams....You got to take in account....We have one of the worst offensive ratings in the league, While also losing to teams like Nuggets (GLeague level team), Nets, Wizards....Took everything to go absolutly perfect to beat a mid Magic team who are missing Franz/Suggs....

We got off to a hot start but when you really break down the teams we beat...It gets dicey...

To me if you actually break it down if you want to give Raptors an applause on the season we can say we beat the Cavs every matchup (One where they were missing 3 starters) but they are also having a really bad year overall....And we beat the Heat....Other than that we have no real impressive wins on the season against an actual good team in the league so far.....We have been beating up on basement dwelling tanking teams so far outside of Magic/Cavs/Heat all 3 of them in the East are also having down years as well and been injured....

Until we look like we can hang in there with the actual top tier teams in the league (Have no evidence of it yet) And we stop losing to G-League tanking rosters we can't really bragg about our record without doing a deeper dive into things and realize the big glaring flaws we have..

I know we have missed Yak for alot of games but unless i see a healthy Yak on the court with no issues and the team is actually going head to head with the actual good teams in the NBA and looking decent in the process i will not praise the Record that much because come playoff time the Record won't mean jack **** and if we play an actual good NBA team in a 7 game series these flaws we see will be exposed and we will have no chance to win...

Don't think it was an accident Darko brought him off the bench last night.

One game sample size to say he hit a wall seems a bit excessive

Why did he come off the bench and only play 12 mins in a game vs an actual big? It's a little suspicious.

I disagree that it's a one game sample size at this point. It looks like we tried to scale up his mins and he wore down a bit in the process.

If he has a good game the next one, do we say he recovered from hitting the wall?

If he's able to get back to playing every game with force and energy like he did over the first couple months then yes. Again, I suspect part of what Darko is doing is recalibrating after seeing how Mamu reacted to starting and playing 30 mpg. He didn't look like the same guy vs. Washington or Warriors or last night.

Is that hitting the wall or just needing to pace himself differently with extra mins?

Denver plays 12 games vs the East in the next 16 games, in Jan.

Let's see what other teams they beat. We absolutely should have been them, but we also won't be the only ones to lose to them.

Is that hitting the wall or just needing to pace himself differently with extra mins?

The point is he seemed to be pacing himself differently with extra mins and he wasn't as effective doing so (as his game relies on bursts of energy), and it still led to him having to come off the bench and only play 12 mins not on b2b vs. team with an actual big that we needed him to match up against.

But we had business losing it because we lost it.

You can't both complain that we're a meh team and at the same time complain that we lost a game like that. That's what meh teams do.

At the end of the day, we're a 40-47 win team that will likely be somewhere between 5-8 seed. Teams like that lose games like Denver and Washington.

I know there's probably a stat for this but I need to know how many times we actually get a basket after calling a timeout.

The bench shoot 0-18 from 3 because they were undisciplined?

What's the definition of disciplined? Seems like a cover for just "not quite enough talent".

Refs had to keep the Nuggets in the game somehow

We don’t have guys that can get to the rim. When we’re always losing the FT battle you have to stop blaming the refs at some point.

Facts and interpretation was presented but the reply is just emotion.

Except, mitigating factors are presented for wins only and not for losses. For example, some of those losses came during our 7 games in 11 days stretch. Also, RJ was out for a bunch of the losses as well which everyone should now understand is a big deal for the offense. It's the kind of intentionally skewed analysis that causes frustration among fans that come here to discuss the team with genuine intentions only to be met with extreme negative bias.
