That I agree with. But Angie won't do a deal for a top guy unless he feels he is ripping the other GM off.

So instead he will deal away depth on guys who have lost value vs their draft position because they want to give playing time to the "next" young pick

They don't own their own pick this year. They're right on that edge zone where we were when we owed the pick to the Spurs. They could either choose to compete or tank harder.

Tanking luck hasn't been on their side at all. They might decide to forgo it. I think the ideal trade would probably be IQ, RJ for Lauri, but IQ/RJ go to different teams who bring back some form of picks and expiring contracts to the Jazz. Lauri's value isnt insane either, he's never played more than 65 games in a season.

let's see:

14-6 with RJ
7-9 without RJ

hey let's trade RJ!

i really don't get it

We are 8-7 without Poeltl.

Pretty clear whose contributions we miss more when they are out.

The numbers and eye test don't lie...Raptors are a better team with RJ than without. Scottie plays more freely with another scorer along with BI.

According to StatMuse:

Scottie Barnes has averaged 19.4 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 10 games in his last 10 games without Jakob Poeltl.

Scottie Barnes has averaged 15.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 10 games in his last 10 games without RJ Barrett.

Obviously without Jakob, Scottie is asked to play the 5 more...but you can see that Scottie's performance requires a secondary or tertiary creator.

Kevin Pelton at ESPN currently has Scottie on his 3rd Team All-NBA. Not that one guy's opinion means that much, but if people are talking about him that way, he should definitely be an All-Star.

Barnes stats don't reflect how important he is. Coaches and analysts should vote him in. Especially if we're a top 4 seed.

The issue is that 18 PPG isn't the same as what it use to be now that there's an incredibly high pace. Scottie has to be more aggressive getting to his spots and seeking out mismatches off ball.

The other part is that he needs to work on break down moves. I remember once when he hit a cross over and he was surprised he fooled the defender.

When people bang this gong, it cannot be repeated enough that he isnt now, has never been, and will never be a natural scorer. At some point, this needs to sink in.

Ingram now #11 and Scottie on the list at #14.

Still crazy how Jalen Johnson, MPJ, Siakam, Ball, and OG are ahead of both Ingram and Scottie, lol.

Pretty crazy how last night he had a pretty average performance at best, and still put up 18/8/10

Meh, votes only matter for top 5.

The 7 reserves will be chosen by the coaches.

Jalen johnson has very flashy numbers
Lamelo has had millions of followers since he was a 15 year old kid his clout is different.

The only real shockers are Siakam and MPJ

He can improve. The biggest hurdle is his handle and ball security which looks improved.
