Raps - gets Trae
Bulls - gets IQ, Gradey (IQ can replace Coby if they want to remain competitive, again don't know if they are planning to rebuild from scratch)
Hawks - gets Vuc, Coby, Ochai (they get off of Trae's contract without giving up picks if he decides to opt-in to his PO)

I just can't see why Chicago would take on IQ's contract instead of just keeping White instead at a lower number?

From what I’ve heard, Coby has rejected the max extension offered by CHI because it’s limited to 140% of his current salary which he deem isn’t enough.

There's still a big gap in AAV between 22m (max they can offer right now) and 32.5m (IQ's contract).

There is. We may need to send SRPs as well in addition to Gradey. If CHI waits until the offseason, they may lose Coby for nothing.
It depends on what other deals CHI can get and whether they even want to take on long term salary.

I expect a shortlist of Trae’s preferred destinations to be announced in the next day or two, and we’ll be on it.

Doubtful they lose him for nothing unless they choose to. He can be moved as a rental for some playoff team at worst and get back expirings plus draft assets.

I think some of these plays highlight how a PG like Trae can really help our offense in a real way. The way he processes the floor and reacts to the defense in realtime to get easy looks for himself and others is something our offense could really benefit from. Can our defense absorb the dropoff though? We're currently 4th in the league defensively, 19th offensively.

I think Trae’s situation a lot like BI won’t be many suitors. He might have his list, but those teams need to have the flexibility and contracts to make the deal.

I think Raps are a real player for him. IQ has to definitely go and I don’t think IQ’s value is as bad as people make it seem. It’s going to be similar to Jordan Poole value.

If attaching a protected 1st can move IQ and get Trae I’m totally game for it. Agree we should keep Jak if his back gets better cause he is a starting calibre C. Will be a pain to acquire one afterwards.

Our biggest challenge is not having enough salaries to send back. Like it would be too much to include Jakobe, Dick and Ochai with IQ to get Trae. So moving Jakob kind of makes sense but not if you don’t get back a starting C. This is where Sabonis’ contract becomes easier to manage being 6 million less a season

That is a good point of reference re: Jordan Poole. This was the trade that sent him to the Pelicans:

The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to trade veteran guard CJ McCollum, center Kelly Olynyk and a future second-round pick to the Washington Wizards for guard Jordan Poole, wing Saddiq Bey and the 40th overall pick in Thursday's second round of the NBA Draft (used to select Micah Peavy of Georgetown),

So undesirable contract, useful wing coming off major injury (ie. damaged goods), future 2nd FOR shorter term undesirable contract, undesirable contract, and current 2nd

Yeah. Trae isn't getting us to the level of contention, so mortgaging our future isn't a good idea. We need to be doing more with our FRPs, not giving them up.

This a decent suggestion where everyone gets some version of what they want. I can see IQ thriving with Giddey (even tho their combined defense is a problem).

Seems like IQ would thrive in any situation where he isn't the primary playmaker.

But the best part of your suggestion is what the hawks get. Expiring contracts is what they want and you got them that in spades.

The only problem i see is from the bulls angle. Expiring contracts are at a premium so if i'm a bulls fan....i want more for those. So i'm thinking the raps need to add draft picks here going to bulls unfortunately. The bulls need more. Something like one FRP and one SRP from the raps + a SRP from the hawks.

Raps aren’t giving up FRP for Trae to get this done so this won’t happen lol. It’s basically, from the Raptors perspective everything mentioned plus FRP for Trae? I would say no one is giving up a FRP for Trae if ATL is looking to ditch a FRP to Washington just to get rid of Trae’s contract.

You know you are cooked when you want to go to the Wizards lol. Come on Trae, you are better than that.

That's crazy.

Who would willingly wanna go to Washington?

Maybe Trae has CTE... maybe it's best not to trade for him.

He's eyeing a team he can make "his" and they've probably sent word they would extend him.
